Thanks @Stump06 , I just ordered this pouch.https://www.ebay.com/itm/NcStar-VISM-TAN-Large-Utility-Cell-Phone-GPS-EMT-First-Aid-MOLLE-PALS-Pouch/201650377205?_trkparms=aid=111001&algo=REC.SEED&ao=1&asc=20160908105057&meid=cf4ed1f4838d4603846f7560710e3883&pid=100675&rk=7&rkt=15&mehot=pp&sd=312219820566&itm=201650377205&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci:39f3969e-a5a2-11e8-91e6-74dbd18003c9|parentrq:5f07f2421650a9cdaad91ec0fffe89b0|iid:1
This is the pouch I use for my bolts and drill
Well, these are even more of a favorite for me now...
I just broke down and bought some heavy duty rubber shrink wrap for my bolts, and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out.
The shrink tube came in 5 foot lengths and I got 14 bolts out of each roll. You would probably be able to stretch it to 15 bolts if you aren’t too concerned with the rubber coating going all the way to the depth of the hole. Also, I left a little too much past the bolt head for most of the batches, that way it didn’t end up shrinking a little short. It cuts right off, but could add up a little bit to making that 15th bolt happen.
They require a ROLLING boil if you are going to use water. I don’t have a heat gun, and didn’t want to wait a week and a half to drive to a buddies and use his. I kept the pot boiling and dropped them in on a rack for a minute and a half to two minutes.
Here you can see the difference between leaving 1/8” overhang on the bolt head versus about a 1/4”-3/8” overhang...
I even used a small piece of leftover to coat my CamJam just for giggles.
Overall, this is TOTALLY worth the expense and weight added to the bolts. Here is the link to the exact tubing I used. It is the 3/4”. You might be able to get away with the 5/8” tube, but honestly it would be a PAIN to get it over the bolt head.

Here are 24 bolts all finished up and ready to go. (2 orders of the link above) The little scrap is all the waste for the project after the bolts and CamJam were done...

are you dipping them slow? The instructions say to dip them at the rate of one inch every 5 seconds. So if you are dipping approximately 3.5" it should take 17.5 seconds to fully dip them and 17.5 seconds to pull them back out.I have been trying to plasti-dip my grade 8 hex bolts, the black rubber adhered to the first bolt but the next two I tried the rubber will not adhere, I even cleaned the bolt with alcohol, any suggestions?

Yes, where possible. The extra step is handy for better positioning and for stepping on and off the platform. One bolt at same height as platform, on opposite side works awesome! I can easily maneuver for shots either way with ease. You guys doing the same?

Where do you find nice straight trees like that. All the trees I hunt out of are gnarly and bent.
