Treebolts revisited

No need to remove the LB each time. Do you have a ropeman on it? Just loosening it will work to get it out of the way.

I understand I wouldn't have to remove the lineman's belt. I guess I should have chosen my words a little more carefully. Yes I have a ropeman on it. I guess the point is more that I would be having to move the tether and the lineman's belt up the tree and loosening and tightening the lineman's belt to get it out the way each time. It just seems like too many unnecessary steps. If I was moving the tether up the tree like redsquirrel does with his aider it would be a different story because I would be gaining extra feet per step. But in this scenario it was only to help get the lineman's belt out of the way while I drilled. Just seems like an unnecessary step to add to the process, at least for me.

I'm probably going to wear an HSS harness with the pockets, the one designed for off season tree prep, for setting up my trees. I don't know if that will make a difference as far as if my LB will be in the way for drilling or not.
I have to get boned up on the red squirrel aider.

That sounds awesome. In the cold weather it was taking me only slightly less time to one stick up the tree. I bought an ATC to rappel out of the tree because it was unbearable doing the one stick method all the way down. I'm really excited to pick up an EZ kut and give it a whirl this spring!
Yea going up is easy when you're relatively warm still. But when that sun goes down and there calling for 20 below that nite you can litteraly feel the temp drop fast. Hand warmers don't do s**t after 10 below and your hands are cold! Lol.

My toes are always the first to go. Even in the low 20’s and teens they get to where I can feel/move them anymore.

We don’t get enough cold weather down here for me to invest a whole lot on cold weather gear yet. Most of my season has just as much chance of hitting 80° as it does dropping below freezing.

Sounds like all you need is cold weather boots. I have a pair of guide gear boots from sportsmans guide I bought for $79. Best cold weather boot I've ever owned. Bought them bigger than my feet so there is room for good socks and I put hand warmers up by the toes. The hand warmers make a world of difference. Feet still get cold but not to the point that I want to go home.

@WHW thanks for the link to that pouch. Just picked up 8 of them since they were on clearance for $4.99

That "clearance sale" has been going on for several years. lol

Through those years, I've ordered about 8 myself. They make good presents.

I recently made a DIY Saddle. I've been going back and forth about what pouches to use. I'm going to use these after I wrap them in multicam so they match.

Haha. We think alike, I bought a huge pile of pouches from rogers last year. Stuff I didn't even need just because they were on clearance. All buck commander stuff. Ammo pouches, Turkey pouches, and a couple others. Couldn't pass up the price.

A 1400 grain boot and a wool socks with a hand heater taped to the top of my toes works really good for me in below zero weather. You wanna keep your feet loose not restricting the blood flow

I think I saw you got an ez kut drill for Christmas somewhere. Any chance you're going to do a climbing methods video with it?

You need to watch @WHW video about it. That's the one that convinced me.

I have, and I'm pretty convinced. There are two things that I'm hoping to see a little closer. One is any change between the EZ kut and the woodpecker (I don't think there is any, but curiosity is killing this cat) and two is whether or not you think the ez kut drill is quiet enough to use on a bedding setup.

Thanks again G2!

It's at the 9 minute mark, but the whole video is worth a watch. It's not often you see an in depth video from a hunter with that much experience.
Ok, Warren's video I have watched it multiple times, thank u
