Treebolts revisited

12volt might be all you'd need in a FUSE if they make them.

Make sure it comes with a battery. I notice a lot of drills in big box stores pretty well priced but then they don't include a battery. If they do, the extra battery can be pricey too.

The one I linked to above comes with the battery. I'm still not sure I'm ready to spend that kind of money for presetting trees. Seems excessive.

What price does Home Depot show?

My cordless Mikita I bought used in 93'. Batteries poop out a lot faster than they used to but not bad. I always made sure I drained them good before recharging.

Too cool! I need to get one! The holes I have drilled with the woodpecker have all been with my right arm...be interesting to see how my left shoulder holds up running it in reverse...I guess I could spin around the tree and drill the left holes with my right hand.

Not easy to do.

Called Simmons Broadheads this morning and talked with Dave. Super nice guy. I ordered the frenzy climbing belt. Pretty neat little double lanyard system that would be good for installing bolts as well as navigating limbs.

You have a picture of that belt?

I think your dewalt will work fine for you. Give it a shot! Mine came with 2 batteries, so I can still prep 5 or 6 trees in a day if I want.

On a farm a cordless impact in the field is a huge time saver and it helps prevent injury from large levers. I have used the cordless impact to change tractor duals' manure tanker tires.
I took it to a local tire shop for fun . They had some rusted lugs on a truck they were having trouble with using their impact. I lent them mine... zoom off.

How does it not spin out in your hands if it has that much torque? Was it on a hammer setting, or do you have Popeye arms?
