Using Ropeman 1 on 9mm rope?

Just looked at a pic...that’s a flat carabiner. They can work. I used a Petzl William with Yale...didn’t slip but it does jam the biner into one position.

Round is better. Petzl Attaché, Pearabiner, Rocklock. I’m going to try a Metloius Element which is a lightweight Pear shaped that looks round in pics

That is beyond carabiner shape issues.
The slipping I had today was under a full load on skinny rope with a flat biner and it was slow

In my head, all I can imagine is that the teeth are different (not likely) or that the spring is weak and not holding at the correct angle to grab the rope (most likely)

Try holding the teeth in while loading it and see if it grabs

Looks like the rope is super tight making it harder for the teeth to grip on it, Put body weight on it instead of sliding it down by hand!

Looks like the teeth are out of travel and it can't tighten up any more. Need to fill in the gap with larger carabiner or rope. Or the spring isn't wound enough. I'm sure if you sent them that video they will send you another one.

It's the Spring. I have three of them and i can't get ANY movement like that on Yale Bandit, Bluewater Assault 11mm, Predator 11.5mm or HTP 9mm

I just found the spot on my 9mm rope where i had slipping..something is on the rope. Sap or something...
