What's the price on these? I really like my rope but I can be persuaded to change it up

So this is replacing the preda strap, or is the preda strap renamed to the Versa Strap?
predatail is for the predator, versa strap is for things with a versa button, like lone wolf stuff. versa button is bigger and requires a larger loop (distance between stitch lines of the strap)

Change of plans. Each of you will have your choice between OD green and Blaze orange for the tag end of your Versa Strap!

I will be looking to order 4 of these, but would like to see pictures of exactly how they work first.
I am more of a visual person than envisioning from the written discription

Slacker..... I know you got your hands full!!!! You can only invent & prototype so much in a calendar year! I still remember that first knock off kestrel & someone said you were gonna fit right in. Ummmm that was quite the undersell! Hang in there & keep up the good work!

I believe it was “he will fit in and cost us a lot of money “

I agree it’s the understatement of the year

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!!!!!

First of all, THANK YOU @ricky racer !!!!!!! Your comment up above got me thinking. “Can I possibly find the happy medium between the Predator, Versa button, Beast stick button, and everything in between”?

The challenge was that all of the stitched loops had to be able to fit over the Versa button, which is significantly larger than the Predator button. But it couldn’t be so big that it wouldn’t allow the Predator to cam over and lock in nicely. The Beast stick was easy because it has the smallest button of them all, and it’s a stick, so no camming required.

As it turned out I didn’t have anything with a Versa button to compare to when I launched the Predatail last week. My mind was telling me there was no way one strap would work and I should just plan on building two sizes.

Fast forward to today. I get a set of LW sticks in the mail. I rushed home and made a 6’ strap with bigger loops that would just barely fit over the Versa button. It was dark, so I grabbed a headlamp, my Predator, and a LW stick and headed for the woods behind my house.

I spent the next hour using the one strap for the Predator and the LW stick on every different size tree I could find. I found success on every one! Even a few wonky ones. It’s amazing the difference 1/4” added to a loop can make!

So in closing, the Predatail is no more. It’s just the Versa Strap. In this case Versa = versatility because it now works on the Predator, ANY climbing stick with a bolt or button (1 3/4" or less in diameter), and I’ve been told by someone who has been testing the strap this evening, that it will work on the Klemz style platform with a toe hook and a solid push down. The Klemz requires a little more effort because it does not have as aggressive of a cam over as the Predator.

One thing to remember about a new strap, whether it has a buckle or not, it has a break in period to work out the little bit of stretch they have. This only takes a few sets with full weight applied on some different size trees. The more you use it the better it functions!

To everyone who ordered a Predatail and had it shipped, you still have an awesome strap for your Predator. Win!

For all of the orders waiting to be fulfilled, you will be getting the new Versa Strap. And since this is the only strap I have to make now, there’s no need to add the color coded paracord.

I think everyone will be more than impressed with what they will be able to accomplish with this awesome piece of gear!

The pics below are of some of the sets I did with the Predator and LW stick tonight using the Versa Strap. I am 200 pounds and was able to get solid sets with little to no standoff pull away. The more I used the strap the better each set got. You’ll see in one pic with the Predator the button was in between loops and I was forced to use the next loop up. Even though I had a fair amount of slack, I was able shove the post down and get a good cam lock. The Predator design is just that good! It can easily take up that slack because of its cam design. As far as the sticks go, well they are a no brainer. Just loop the button, pull down, and climb! SOLID!!!

I’ve rambled on long enough. Time to get back to sewing!

The first 5 pics are a play by play setting the Predator with the Versa Strap.

Welcome the Versa Strap!! “One and done”!

The next 3 show how even with a less than perfect tree diameter, it’s all good! It just takes a little more down travel with the post.
