I watched a video which pointed out that isolation is to keep the spread of Coronavirus low so the health care facilities are not overwhelmed all at once. If the total infections are spread out over a year, the hospitals will be able to manage. If in a week, they will be over whelmed. Almost everyone will get it, eventually.

True. You get it. Many don’t.

Take this with a grain of salt. But I have an inlaw family member that works in a certain sector of the government that has set in hours and hours of readiness briefings for the last 2-3 weeks. They didn't not share what would be consirdered classified infromation with me (which they are privy to). They did tell me that most everyone in the country will be infected before this is all over, that based on data and infromation they have.

From what I have heard, most people have mild to moderate symptoms. I watched a video on the Spanish flu in 1918 and they said in some cases you were fine in the morning and were dead by nightfall. Your skin would turn black and blue as well. That is really scary.

I tried my phantom, first saddle ever for me today and also first time DRT climbing. The saddle seems awesome,of course i didnt spend a ton of time just hanging in there.
The DRT climbing will take more practice, but it went ok for being a newbie. I am here to write about it,that is a plus. Thinking of going back out and climbing some more.

Yep pick your method and practice.
Especially for anyone not use to hanging, it builds confidence or convinces you to do something else.
It's a matter of trusting the equipment and your thoroughness.
After having rigged large branches I have no trouble trusting the ropes to my couple hundred pounds.

I'm going out roving after work. (stump shooting)

Not the Spanish flu and it's not 1918. Keep a positive mindset, it's not the end of the world. I'm in the most affected demographic and can't succumb to what ifs, etc. I have to keep moving forward. Going to get bolts out of trees in Oklahoma tomorrow, maybe I'll find some toilet paper.

People don’t seem to appreciate the extremely real possibility of a global depression. This is not a recession. The 2008 crisis was one crisis.

The 2008 financial crisis was really a mortgage crisis. This is different. It is a global health crisis, airline crisis, healthcare crisis, education crisis, supply chain crisis, travel industry crisis, retail crisis AND a far worse emerging real estate crisis. In 2008 we fought one of the crises. ONE. We have an economic crisis on all fronts while fighting a global long term pandemic.

Fighting the pandemic alone would likely overwhelm Government beyond their resources. This is far far worse.

True. The economy is going to contract very very fast. Money printing likely. Helicopter money is likely coming. Inflation or if they don’t run the printing presses - deflation.
Maybe even the mark of the beast. Or maybe not this time.
But who knows for sure.
Bob Marley. Don’t worry be happy. Nothing I can do about it.

What did I do today, loaded 150 tons of corn. One day at a time. Enough to worry about today and I cannot change yesterday and I cannot do anything about tomorrow yet. No worries. Corn prices might fall because of oil falling and demand falling for ethanol.

Oh. Got a CAT scan Monday. Results yesterday. Hmm two aneurisms. I am supposed to take it easy. I think I will load another 80 tonnes of corn tomorrow.
Oh I have some exhaust valve gaskets leaking on a tractor, rats.
And Murphy says. Don’t worry but but pray and let your request be made known to the one in control.
Plan for tonight is to pray and worry about tomorrow later.
Maybe I will retire tomorrow night. Then I will take it easy. Maybe rent the land. Hopefully live to hunt again. Eternal life is gain anyway.

Just where my rambling farmer thoughts went today.

Reminds me of ... “Worrying about tomorrow will not remove the sorrows of that day but it will remove the strength you have today”. Take it easy Ontario and may the Lord bless your health.

Well it all sucks this is happening but to bad it didn’t happen in October so we could all hunt.

Anyways today I did some yard work, started repairing a hole I had to make in my wall to fix some pipes and tinkered with my saddle gear.

Got a new versa button idea I’m going to try. I like using Amsteel daisy chains and this will be a lot easier to reach down and take of when 1 stick climbing. It’s some kind of hard composite ball with a brass insert. More to follow on this project when the rest of my stick parts get here.

I really like the idea...the brass fitting would scare me a bit. Worry it would pull out. Maybe if that ran all the way through.

Yeah the brass insert is actually the threaded part inside, at least I think it’s brass. Should be able to try it out within the next week. I’ll post the finished product up and testing of the button. We will see, if it works it will be great, if not I may have an interesting story to tell. Will most likely keep a spare real versa button in my pack even if it passes my redneck backyard science testing. That way in case it would break while hunting for real I can replace on the fly and keep climbing.

So if that ends up failing a delrin ball with a hole drilled all the way through, then insert a rated bolt/screw through it.

I’m actually looking online at aluminum threaded balls now to replace. I have a SS 5/16 bolt threaded into the ball now from the other side of the stick. I think if it would fail, it would just be the ball coming off of the brass threads/insert embedded inside it and likely wouldn’t do much but just pop off not really causing any danger to me. I’m not sure exactly what the ball is made of but it has some weight to it. When I find the right size in aluminum I’ll just replace to be on the safe side.
