XOP platform with a Muddy Pro stick?

I bought five sets of Helium Sticks, three XOP platforms, five Ropeman1s, four sit drags and a bunch of ropes this summer..... that should last me till I hang it up.... as soon as I like something seems like they stop making it.

Oh quit your whining guys :)

seriously, sorry guys - but with almost 4 decades of bowhunting I have learned when you find something you like you better buy enough to last for a while - Murphy will come in and stop making them for sure...... and usually replace them with something else that doesn't work as good - i.e Ropeman1 to Ropeman 2.

I personally keep two exact saddles, with their own gear for climbing (lineman belt, tree tether, bridge, etc.) set up all season and I swap them out every 2-3 hunts. I then wash and hang dry one while using the other. I guarantee you if someone ever produces/manufactures the right platform that works like I want, I will immediately buy 5 of them so I never have to deal with so many mods..... I like the DIY stuff but I am ready to move past platforms :)

I hear ya and don't blame you a bit for picking up the stuff you know works. If I didn't have other expensive hobbies I would have some extras as well lol. I am just getting ready to start messing with platforms so I'm sure that will be a whole new can-o-worms ;)

All in fun Dave. :) I dont buy double of anything, but only cause its tough to afford and I havent been bitten with bad luck(knock on wood). I just finally bought a back up string for my recurve only due to a couple friends insisting I do as they have had issues at tournaments and needed a second string.

I see you have a ton of helium sticks, yet mentioned you only use 3 at any given time and will climb higher with the 3rd stick if needed. Is that your plan in states with taller trees like Ohio? Ive got 3 sticks and thinking boy 5 would be nice, then I read your comment and Im pondering that option now.

I have two set of three all ready for going in the woods this year. In Ohio I hunt private so we have permanent stands/sticks and I just usually stand on the stand while using my saddle. I have a few trees here locally where I get up over 25 foot and yes I usually just prefer to use the top stick to get to height but I would have no problem carrying in 5 sticks. The problem for me is that when I get past 3 it becomes a nightmare in the dark to hang them from my saddle without making a ton of noise clashing them together as I climb. But I am also getting to the age where doing a one stick climb isn't as much fun as it used to be :) The older I get the lower I get and the more I look for those perfect tees/set ups. I average 15-18 foot most of the time. Barry Wensel usually now hunts from small ladder stands that are often 5-8 foot high... the key is good back cover.

I agree with you, I usually stock up on something I really like, maybe not as much as you though lol. But you're gonna have a lot of extra gear when we come up with the next big innovation in saddle hunting! :p:p
