Dope is legal in CO and a number of other states….maybe even yours, which would be dope! Seems like you been smoking some dope, which would make that a double dope, too, dope!

2.5 and bad. I day hunt that far all year before daylight.
Only 2.5 miles. I’ll carry my stuff. I have read here that guys are carrying 20+ pounds for an eastern day hunt. That’s more than I carry for 4 days of elk hunting.
not sure I carry 20 pounds I’ve been cutting gear weight for a while. Still cutting weight. I’m getting all my stuff together. I’ll weigh it once I get it together.

I like high-speed low-drag as much as the next guy lol, but I guess I'm not truly UL. I typically carry a frame pack if I need layers, otherwise the kit list isn't bad. I did switch to an EXO 2200, so the pack isn't necessarily the heaviest, but... I typically will pack a deer out, so a kill kit is a preference, and I'll always have a basic first aid kit and nav. On the other hand, I deal with a lot of mountain laurel and blueberry swamps, and middle-aged clear cuts with green briar and multiflora rose. Walking on your knees or hands and knees isn't necessarily uncommon... Long live knee pads!

Majority of the places I hunt u gotta drag ur critter out whole....if I lived somewhere that wasn't a rule and could cut up right there and carry it out like that I would have a much different approach to things and I would not use the system I use currently.

I dragged for years, and I still do on occasion, but there are many times I'm glad it's not the only option haha! On the other hand, if you can "manage" it, a small Jet Sled will save your butt (not a super fan of deer carts, but they can be effective in some circumstances).

Sled + a cart even better hehehe

I do have some rare occasions that I'm able to pack em....u kinda feel like a badazz 4 sure

I don't think it's a bragging thing.....I wish it wasn't that way. I way jelly of the states u can go and see more than 40yds in the woods. I'm counting down the days I can go hunt somewhere else other than here. My buddies go outta state and I hear the stories and it sometimes sounds unbelievable. They come back with fantastic stores of seeing lots of deer and being able to pattern bucks and do all the stuff I see on urubes
I've invited you up here 3 or 4 times
