XOP Climber seat as climber and platform?

Maybe you can unbolt the little arms on the climber and flip them over and rebolt them so the smooth part of the belt is on the tree instead of teeth.
Now I want to go home and try it myself.

Ok I did a little research and I think maybe 1” polyethylene flexible sprinkler pipe. The real thin wall stuff if you can find it by the foot. If anyone does please pm me I want to try some.
It doesn’t need to fit tight just go over the belt.

I found that I am better off making the climb easier from the start and accept that it will be 1-2 adjustments on the way up.

This makes the effort far less than trying to make the belt tight at the bottom but struggling to climb because of the tighter belt.

I also used a foot loop so that I could start the climber above the wide base of a tree. Works great!

I really like the foot loop idea, might have to give that a try!

got my 1/8 bar in and cleaned this thing up a little. Stick stands 10" off platform

with the LW buckle its adding 1.75 lbs

My first version developed a bad creak...I'm thinking it was from the 1/16 stick wall wallowing out at the hinge bolt.

Will see how this one goes
Wondering how this has been working out for you? I watched your videos up in the tree. It seems to be super solid.

Is there anyone who tried this mod on their climber that can chime in? This seems like such a genius idea I cant believe there hasn't been more talk of it.

That does look solid, I think you would obviously lose the climbing capability which I really like but I guess if the klemz style is too small it would work

If you look at post #157 the gentleman who came up with this seems to be using this as a climbing system and as a platform. Thats why I think he has a genius idea here.

Just got a lone wolf hand climber seat in the mail today. Going to practice climbing before I pull the trigger on the mods but hoping it works out. Would be a good system for my style of hunting

Thanks, for the post number, I was skimming through to find the details on the primal build, not sure how you climb with it, interested to check it out, def needs to be considered!

Went out and tried climbing. Went better than expected for a first time. But I can tell that if this is how Im going to go about things, the prusik is gunna have to go. Anybody know if a ropeman 1 will work on HSS rope?

The post folds flat to the platform while climbing.

I didnt notice that, awesome! Get a bungee to keep it from rattling while you climb, cam it over when you get to height, how much does the post weigh? Anyone making parts? I'm interested!

Although now that I think about it I've never really had an issue with the stability of my hand climber, maybe in extreme side load cases, seems like a solution that's not really required. Maybe it takes a bit to get used to the hand climber as a platform, but I think @bongo uses this exclusively like I do and doesn't strap it down or secure it in any way.

I got the parts on order from online metals. Going to order a batwing and versa button from lone wolf today. Hoping to put it all together by next weekend.

When I used mine I felt like the platform big enough that I could get most shots off with side loading also. I really like the idea of the hand climber just only have a few spots where it out shines my spurs or sticks w/ predator.

@donnieballgame you are correct side loading is not one of the issues of the seat as a platform I even consider. But as soon as I get off this tin can I will make the Summit cable mods that @FayetteKong built. I have posted on here many times if I could build one with Summit cables instead of the traction belt I would have a climbing machine. I am really pumped in his build and will switch to that as soon as I get home.

Well I guess I have no excuse, I should look into this mod, how does the summit cable work on wet slick trees, just asking because I have had good luck with the belt so far, other than the obvious difficulties in climbing that we've all encountered.

@donnieballgame I’m not sure as far as it slipping it will more than the belt. But that’s what your trying to escape with the belt is it sticking. Hence the hose mod on the belt. But just like the belt if you pay attention and keep your weight on the offshore side of the tree no worries. I’ve climbed many slick trees with Summit climbers with no issues in the rain. But slick trees wet or not you have to pay attention or you will slip
