I took mine apart. Figure I'm going to saddlepalooza and if something's wrong, there will be plenty of guys there to help me.Are you guys taking the Predator apart to paint, or simply taping the washers, etc.?

I only seperated the post from the platform. Added some extra wax to the bolt when I put it back together. Went together easily and I haven't noticed any noise or popping at all.Are you guys taking the Predator apart to paint, or simply taping the washers, etc.?

I did not degrease. I did remove the post and leveling screw, but left the tree bracket on the post. Also used the spray on bedliner and it seems to be holding fine. Primer then bed liner then paint. Mine is turning out (so far) darker than @Slipnslide 's version, but I guess it's close enough.Did anyone need to do a degreaser or anything or just went straight to primer?
Would any of the spray on bedliner from a spray paint style can work?

I used the exact same method. Took apart the same way. But I would maybe spray over the bedliner with light tan to keep it from looking too dark. It's really hard to get the sponge into the back underside of the platform (at least on gen 2.)I did not degrease. I did remove the post and leveling screw, but left the tree bracket on the post. I realized that it would be darker than yours, but I was too far gone!!! Hahaha. Did the platform and the Doublesteps and tree brackets. Time for another project! Looks great! I didn't think mine looked very good then I showed it to a buddy who hunts but has never seen a saddle or platform and he thought it was factory!I realized that it would be darker than yours, but I was too far gone!!! Hey, if you don't care, I'm gonna go ahead and copy your orange lettering on the post..."imitation is the sincerest form of flattery "Looks great! I didn't think mine looked very good then I showed it to a buddy who hunts but has never seen a saddle or platform and he thought it was factory!
Looks great! I'm still waiting on my predator. Ordered on the 6th of Jan.. should be coming soon. I plan on doing something similar. Did you use the bed liner on the platform top, bottom, and post or just the platform top?I realized that it would be darker than yours, but I was too far gone!!! Hahaha.
