CRB I am expecting my shipment today. I talked with 2 others on here who ordered and theirs came with the 6pnt bracket. Maybe they have changed things lately? Either way, that bracket doesnt seem to be liked by those who have tried it. Thanks for putting together the quick links.

Hi Charles,

The six point bracket does not come with the I Beam replacement part
purchased on our website. You would have to order the six point bracket
separately.

Thank you,

I just called XOP and spoke with Jennifer. I explained to her that a number of guys on the forum have ordered the I Beam and it's came with a bracket. She says with an impatient voice "you will not receive the bracket if you do not order it." I was ready to purchase enough parts to build two platforms. Now I'm thinking of not purchasing since she was so annoyed with the my question. Hopefully their products are better than their customer service. Wow!

I know last year I seen the Air Raid at Field and Stream for $149 on sale. That might be the better route since you always have a hang on tree stand to fall back on if the platform doesn't work out.

Thanks crb, I still cant believe they sell the parts separately like that. I know last year I asked if I could be some parts and they said no way. Maybe their attorney assured them there was no liability if they sold parts separately? Im highly doubting people are breaking those i-beams and can see where some might want to swap to a larger seat or smaller seat.

I checked with XOP and the I Beam does not come with a 6 point bracket so you will need to buy 2 when building out option #2 above. A list of everything you will need is...

six point bracket (2) https://www.xopoutdoors.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=58&idcategory=9

i beam (1) https://www.xopoutdoors.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=52&idcategory=9

fast strap button with hardware (1) https://www.xopoutdoors.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=30&idcategory=9

hang-on seat casting (1) https://www.xopoutdoors.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=56&idcategory=9

od green cam strap 1.5 inches thick (2) https://www.xopoutdoors.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=50&idcategory=9

Total Cost: $140 + shipping

Hope this helps!
For those of you trying this, does everyone think the $140 is worth the build? I know we don't really have a market to turn to other than strap on steps or screw on steps as platform.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. I think having a small platform is going to be more comfortable than standing on steps, tree bolts, etc. for me and my boys. I'm just trying to find the best option at a reasonable price point.

In the box..........When you order the seat, you get the cast platform, bolt/nut and 2 plastic washers to attach it to the stand, along with the leveling bolt/nut. You also get a cool looking cushion that we dont need. lol The I-Beam comes with (2) versa buttons bolted on it, along with a bolt/nut and (2) washers at each end. CRB is correct that you dont get the 6pnt bracket. My plan is to use LW batwings so no issue for me.

Kenn, so you only ordered the seat, and i-beam?

Yep. I have extra cam buckle/straps from converting my LW sticks to rope and several batwings I bought for a similar project. Ive already got an idea, just need to get a piece made.

I will want to see this for sure. I realized that I have several Lone Wolf sticks not in use. Maybe I can borrow the batwings from one of them for a nice platform.

Nice to have options. I'd love one just like option 3 but don't want to buy a whole stand for just the seat
Those seats and stands are getting c harder to find. I missed one in my local craigslist just the other day.

I thought by Batwing you guys were referring to the grip on the sticks.

Crb, let us know how that works as I have been considering the Hangout as a platform for some time now.

I just bought the Hawk Hangout Ground Tree Seat today. It's supposed to be used on the ground but I'm going to give it a try and see how sturdy the platform is off the ground. I may have to add another ratchet strap but for $40 it may be another option.

http://www.cabelas.com/product/HAWK-HANGOUT-GROUND-TREE-SEAT/1837468.uts?searchPath=/browse.cmd?categoryId=734095080&CQ_search=hawk+seat&CQ_st=b

Let us know how it works. I cut down a hang on and made a platform, but it wasnt sturdy enough in my opinion.
