Trophyline Saddle Kit

I love the camo pattern too! I’m excited too see what they come out with!

I like the pouches, may have to add them after they get up and going. Wouldnt mind trying the saddle either and compare to my mantis.

Anyone have any thoughts on the sewn loops (tether and linemans ropes) in the pic vs spliced loops like Tethrd uses?
Sewn loops are quite strong. I think they're probably also cheaper/easier than splicing on a lot of ropes. Might be while trophyline went with them.

I like the linemans loop location too. Looks like they're plenty forward and should stay open well.

Who all is looking forward to seeing what Trophyline cooks up?

Once I settled in on my preferred saddle (The Wraptor), and with a limited budget, I haven't been too tempted or caught up with buying extra saddles yet. However, the Trophyline might be the exception. Very curious to see more specifics, and especially if the comfort is in keeping with what I sat in earlier this year.

Sewn loops, when executed properly, exceed the breaking strength of the cord. Just like splices should. Your rope is going to break in the bend(sort of like a failure in a knot), or at the point just before the splice/sewn section.

I have a feeling sewn eyes, loops, and such will start making more appearances in saddle setups due to the streamlined nature.

It should be cheaper because of the time to do it. But the machines, training for operators, programming, etc is expensive.

15-20 bucks for a splice or a sewn eye is nothing really.

At first glance I thought the linesman loops look small
The bridge loops look big and floppy
I think you will have to girth hitch your bridge to be able to be comfortable
I wonder how there sizing will be?
I'm ready to be proven wrong

I'm not seeing a bridge actually - I was thinking the webbing running vertically was leg loops. It looks like maybe a webbing bridge folded underneath there?

Thanks guys. I have Tethrd linemans & tether with spliced loops now. Was just curious why TL would choose sewn vs spliced... y'all answered my question. I actually ordered a Flex but opted for Tethrd ropes because of the streamline nature and strength of the spliced loops vs the knotted loops from Kestrel. Was just curious about sewn vs spliced... thanks again.

I like a sewn splice ALOT!

The weird part is none of these companies using sewn friction hitches. It maintains the full strength of the cord being used. They go cheap and do the knots, and cut the strength of the prusik's by half for our purposes.

It seems backwards - It makes more sense to knot the girth hitch of the tether (most ropes rated well above 4500abs), and sew the friction hitch(they all use 6mm accessory cord - rated at far less than 4500abs, then knotted, so cut in half).

Or better yet - sew both and charge 15.00 more and be done with it.

I like the idea of sewn friction knots a lot. As far as the bridge, I would hazard to guess that it will most likely be webbing, like the original trophyline.

You're already buying lots of webbing to make the saddle. Why not use it for the bridge too?

I’m definitely interested

Would like a back up saddle

Like to find a saddle that is comfortable for a sitter and not as bulky as my old original Ambushes
