You just wait around until redsquirrel starts the official 2019 deer contest entry thread. Then if you qualify you will respond with a well thought response like “I’m in”. Just that easy. Then you have to just hope you are on the proper team. I heard @g2outdoors on a podcast last year but the army must have kept that money because I didn’t see a penny of it.
 
@redsquirrel is just mad that I shot more bucks than him last year.

@EricS the Army definitely kept all the money. I didn't see a penny either.

I can't wait for this contest to kick off. It's one of my favorite things all year. I get to talk a lot of crap, and since it's all online... Nobody remembers when I don't back it up.

Well I just lost my lease (hunt club is dissolving) so I'm back to public. No more chasing this guy...IMG_6356.JPG
 
That sucks about the lease. Just try and look at it as an opportunity to find some better hunting grounds.
 
I’m ready for season to kick off!! I just found out they changed youth season this year and the date is before bow season ( which I support 100%). When I told my son this he looked at me with big eyes and said does that mean I get to have the first try at the big one. We did some extensive scouting January-March and found one that was bigger than I have ever seen with my eyes the second week of January. My son jumped him from his bed as we came over the top of a ridge. We stood in his bed planned the hunt and haven’t been back. I was planning on being there first day wind was right. Now it looks like my son is going to get the first crack at him. This I am very happy with his excitement when he found this out was awesome nothing better than having my son share the same passion. Although I was hoping to enter him into the competition this year when I stuck him with an arrow I’d rather see my son put a bullet in his shoulder!
 
Oh yeah I’ll be participating from the DIY kestrel clone….we’ll see if I can’t stick one of these middle Tn monarchs…can’t wait! Just 3 weeks from tomorrow!

I’ve been off the forum a while, I was on team six and I don’t like losing. It’s been a dark few months. I’ve been watching Rosie o donnell show reruns, drinking mikes hard lemonade, and picking up calligraphy. But, the venison is rapidly disappearing and deer tags cane in the mail. So now I am watching Yellowstone, drinking blantons, and scheming to fill my 4 doe tags and one buck tag. Let’s get this party started
