Mantis Saddle shipping status

I dont want to get in an actual argument over this, thats silly. You asked for examples and I provided them.

Did those responses you made to this thread add value to the saddlehunter.com site and its purpose/goals, or did it add value and aim to better the image of Tethrd? As an active member of a community forum such as this and an employee of a company which is in the same industry you have the responsibility to ask yourself that every time you make a post. If the post is in the interest of the company, you are taking advantage of this platform.
I'll add to that. None of the other saddle manufacturers (jx3 Outdoors, Aerohunter, tactisaddle, etc.) have paid staff posting customer service related stuff on here. Not to my knowledge, at least.

Would ya prefer he didn't attempt to answer your CS questions?? Sure you all would be barking about that instead.

That’s the frustrating part to me. I haven’t been asked to answer questions, I wasn’t told to help anyone. I do it because I want to. There are zero ill intentions in what I do. I just like to help people where I can even though it’s not much. But I agree, this isn’t the place for it and I didn’t intend to do anything to change the forum by answering some simple questions. I will refrain in the future

Yes that would be preferred. Maybe provide the email needed to reach tethrd customer service, a number to call, etc and then PM them privately.

You are aware he is a full time paid Tethrd employee right?

Wouldn't YOU prefer he be answering the unanswered emails and questions through their first line of communication instead of coming here as a last resort and trying again?

@flinginairos I think the large concern/issue is that when customers are not getting a response through the tethrd website, the proper channels, quick enough they come here and post their issue publicly and get a response quickly. So that is becoming a customer service channel that they are using to get the attention to their concern faster. I agree that you are just responding to questions and concerns and not pushing product. But by circumventing the tethrd channels of communication, it has become an informational based customer service platform here. Which is not what SH is about.
That’s a better way to put it. Thank you.

Jeff worded it very nicely. This is where my frustrations lie. This site is not tethrd's customer service line. Sure, one response here, one response there isn't a big deal. But then all of a sudden there are guys posting that they can't get in touch with tethrd and they come on here and start getting a response immediately. They tell all their friends to come here for a response and then all of a sudden the content of this site is bogged down with something that should be happening elsewhere. Add to that the frustrations of people who want their stuff and things end up getting heated pretty quickly. I am the one who has to deal with that when it's here, and I lose sleep over this stuff. Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for all you guys do administrating the website and "herding the cats" so to say. Its awesome for newbs like me to have a great place (playground) to learn the ropes.

I would prefer that Tethrd would pay to handle their customer support elsewhere. If they have the time and money to develop new products, travel to expos, "hang" with John Eberhart and THP, and generally grow their business through extensive marketing, then they should be able to handle that. They're building the skyscraper without paying for the foundation I'm my mind.

And, since I do not use Tethrd products, I don't care to see their business being conducted here.

I'm not trying to bash @flinginairos. I respect him (and the rest of the saddlehunter forum members who started Tethrd) as an individual. Anybody who kills public mulies and velvet bucks is cool in my book. I just don't care for Tethrd using a free, nonpartisan public forum for profit.

Agreed. And that’s not something I thought about to be honest. In my mind I’m just answering a random question but what you said makes sense. I appreciate the responses, never claimed to be perfect. Lol

Squirrel, if it matters, I enjoy your site and appreciate almost everything about it. I do not appreciate how you haven't allowed your faithful visitors to help the site in any way, though. There is no sense if you footing the bill for this site when so many use AND LOVE IT. This is my favorite forum at this time. I love the innovation. I love the (mostly) family attitude. I love all the help and concern others have for others when it comes to "advancing" processes and equipment upgrades. It is a great site. Don't let it bog you down so much, though. I know in the past you've needed a break from the forum, and I can understand that. Put people who have the know how in positions to help you help us.

I'm not perfect either and I'll never claim to be. :) Thank you for your understanding Jared. I know while this forum is technically social media I want everyone to remember it's not like facebook or instagram. There is an actual face behind the scenes (that many of you know) who has to deal with what goes on. I'm not joking when I say I lose sleep over this place. Sometimes I wonder if I care too much about this site, but I've put my heart and sole into it for going on 6 years now and it's become an integral part of me.

Yeah I’m surprised they still post here to

I want to thank you for this site and all I’ve learned and will continue to learn here. If I caused you any issues at all I apologize. I pray this place stays close to what it is now.

Someone has been nice enough to offer to show me the ropes and let me try a few different saddle setups this weekend. Hopefully after that I’ll have a better idea of what I will want and decide if I’m just going to wait on the mantis or try something else. I don’t like where this has gone but I think people should know what they’re getting into. Plenty of us are just hearing about saddle hunting and ordering something right away with minimal research because of the long wait times.

I don’t really disagree with what your saying here BUT this isn’t simply not good shipping estimation. They’re telling people they are caught up and giving misleading info at best. They are pretty much a social media business. This is where I found them and have seen most communication from them. We know they are seeing this.

Nowadays social media is the EXACT place to register a complaint. Companies pay extremely close attention to their social media platforms because so many people pay attention to it. Go on a companies twitter account and post a complaint and see how fast you get a response. It's a new world
