I am seriously considering a deposit down on one, but i am still doing a lot of research on bowyers first. Having a custom bow made is def my next step...I cant even tell you how much i am loving Trad since i dipped my toes in it!I have a mountain monarch from Big Jim and quiver and couldn't be happier with everything. I met Jim at the Denton Hill shoot. Super nice guy. He talked to me for almost an hour. He was very busy and still took his time with me talking about wood selection and how his bows were made. The wait was definitely worth it. The bow was more than I expected and a great shooter. The quiver holds tight to the bow with no noise or movement.

I think it is time to get on the list for me but then i feel like it is such a big decision and second guess it hahaI will get a big Jim's custom bow soon, but I can't decide if I want a monarch recurve or a thunder child longbow. Such a tough decision!
I just spoke to an old friend i played ball with and he is going to let me shoot his Custom Toelke Pika. He says if i shoot it, he will be surprised if i don't buy one. Not a long bow guy but maybe he can convert me.I will get a big Jim's custom bow soon, but I can't decide if I want a monarch recurve or a thunder child longbow. Such a tough decision!
It is!! I originally put a deposit down for a buffalo but after talking with Jim at Denton Hill I saw the monarchs and talked to him and his right hand man, preacher, I changed my mind. I really wanted to shoot them that day but I had a couple fractured vertebrae at the time and in a C-collar. If you can make it to show that he's at I would recommend it. I might put another deposit in for a buffalo soon.I will get a big Jim's custom bow soon, but I can't decide if I want a monarch recurve or a thunder child longbow. Such a tough decision!
I would like to make it to ETAR next year...It looks like a great time!It is!! We have made modifications throughout the years to improve the usability of our quivers. They should fit tightly on most any bow... narrow or wide limbs. We also have a bracket that will connect the top with the bottom and allow the user to adjust the location of the arrows to suit them. The "Deflex Bracket" can be added to any BIgJims quivers ever built for just $20.
The quiver is designed to balance well on the bow so it must fit close. With some bow designs, this may put an arrow close to your hand depending on how you have them laid out in the hood. Re arranging the arrows in the gripper or in the hood a little should alleviate any issues.
As far as ordering a bow goes, I don't need nor want to know all of your specs or wood choices when you order. If you get your name on the list, you will have ample time to figure out what you want and then change your mind 12 times before your name comes up.
Thanks, BigJim
Hi Jim, got one from you earlier this summer. Love it but one question, the top part now has developed left and right movement even when secured tightly to the riser. Suggestions?
