Team 7 2019 thread

Hate to mention this to you this late in the game, but I HIGHLY recommend removing that or any peep with stretch tubing. I have a friend that lost his vision in an eye due to the tubing breaking and hitting him in the eye. He owns a bow shop and will not sell or work on any bow with those on there. Too many other good options to risk that situation.

I've tried several different options. But I can't stand being in a situation where my string twists and I can't see through. I'd gladly check out any recommendations you might have.

After your string stretches and u get it adjusted it wont spin anymore
This! Most new strings will stretch out, but after they do, you should have zero issue with peep rotation. I used to shoot the tubing before that happened to my friend too, but I would rather climb and hang WE steps without a linesman than shoot one after that. The odds are extremely slim of that happening to you, just hit too close to home for me. Just keep fresh tubing on there and replace it if you see anything at all different looking.

I went to one of my local food plot fields this morning and had to wait on momma and twins to go to bed before I could work. Clover is looking great, corn is just there to breakup the field, dirt areas have some leftover soybeans, sugar beets, and brassicas waiting on rain. Going on 6 weeks without any now.

@Bwhana ... what a food plot. Love the breakup with the strip of corn.
@Blinginpse is team #7 on the board? Great job. Nice pile of early season vittles.

As for me. TN season opens on Saturday and I am excited. However, I had a heart Ablation surgery yesterday (Tuesday) and the doc had said only 1 day of rest prior to me having the surgery. After the surgery, I get told 5 days of taking it easy and no lifting of over 10 lbs. My wife was in the room too. Now I’m out for opening weekend. Gurrrrrr!
But hey, maybe my heart is fixed and I can hunt like a 25 yr old again.

Go Team 7.

We spent a lot of time and $ on our plots and that is just one of them. The clover has been there for 4 years (white perineal varieties). The co4nnbrewks up the fields and gives them and edge...we see more deer during daylight since we started that a few years back.

Rest up and get better. Follow strict orders, I have family in the healthcare business and the number one cause of serious complications is their patients not following orders and hurting themselves in the process.

I decided to get a new string and cable made for my dad's old bow and see if I can shoot again (shoulder surgery 6 years ago sent me to xbow). It is only set to 50lbs and so far so good. I can hit a 2" circle out to 30 yds. Just like riding a bike! Going to take it out Saturday with the cold front moving in, going from 97 on Thursday to 54 on Saturday morning. Will try to get a doe for the team and in memory of my dad.
