I've only been around for just over a year. Saddle hunting has changed the way I hunt. What is even more valuable than learning a new way to sit in a tree is the hundreds... maybe thousands of things I've learnt since joining this site that didnt even cross my mind before then.
Safety! #1 - I use to hunt climbing stands, hang ons with nothing. Ever! Now I wont even look at a tree without my saddle on.
DIY ideas - building platforms, tree drills, hell even learning how to sew to build or modify my gear
Knowledge - started following all the self filters on YouTube. Took a little from each, DIY sportsman, The Hunting Public, Beast, Tether'd, Hunt Appalachia, and on and on and on. Took some info from each, changed the way I think of deer and deer habitat to make me a more rounded hunter .
Gear - some stuff i never even knew existed. Ropeman's, WE steps, Aerohunter, Tether'd, Squirrel Steps, OCB, tubular webbing, different climbing ropes, prussics, all kinds of knots, splicing, ROS, platforms, and on and on and on.
Take my money!
I've never been part of such a great forum and if it sends all the facebook googans packing all the better.
