Why do u think it's not safe. I was thinking if it's good enough to hold u if u fall climbing it should be good enough otherwise. Are they not load bearing.Does not sound safe to me.

A lineman's belt is a fall PREVENTION device, not a fall RESTRAINT device. The loops it is attached to should be treated as such, unless expressly written by the supplier of the saddle.
Assume they are not load bearing in ANY other case.
If you cinch the belt tight it makes zero noise. It was designed to be tightened for walk and climb then released for the bridge.yes that is the only part of the saddle that makes noise when walking in
