LWCG Ambush Platform

well I decided to order one to try out. Have a predator I love but thinking I may like this on longer hunts or on real cold days when I wear boot insulators

Hard to tell with their stupid, dramatic lighting, but it looks like the stand has built-in hookup points to facilitate using the platform's csm strap to cinch down the sticks.View attachment 19989

Next they will come out with a video on how it all goes together. But they may not due to the event that there almost sold out of them already.

Why would you want them to recreate a platform that is already created? I only bought it because it was larger. As soon as the predator was created there was a decent amount of interest in a predator xl. LWCG just remade their old cast platform with water jetted aluminum, which cut weight. I think they hit the market and size right on the head. Now we have options for everything. ROS, minimalist platforms (Perch, Pred), and now a larger option, Ambush. I can't wait to get mine.

Well then it sounds perfect for you! Glad you found what you were searching for. I’d like to see something the size of a perch, cam as solid as a predator, and weigh less than the Ridge Runner’s 3.5 lbs. Not an easy feat, but I feel like LWCG has the ability to do it with the way they make their brackets and vertical support. But they didn’t, and thats okay because that’s the beauty of a free market!

yeah, thats sad.....

It is sad. But it is what it is. They have a patent (or so they say). I haven't read it but it probably goes something like ... "you cannot make a cam over platform with a water jetting process". So that's what we get. I have a feeling that the cosmetic quality will only get better if people stop buying their products based on cosmetics. But I haven't heard of anyone selling LWCG based strictly on cosmetics.

....you can see the water jet marks on the upright of the post..
Not a surprise to me. My sticks were the same way. Their response was basically " it's a feature, not a bug." Supposedly it gives it texture and breaks their outline up.

Is what it is. Do I like it? Not really. Does it matter? Probably not. If there was a cheaper alternative I'd go for it.

I have never had a business and most likely couldn't make in the business world, but like this platform, it has been taunting people for months and released 150 and they don't sell out in three days after so much hype. I would have to cut it loose and look for something else to make.

LOL, that's one way to get around it.

Theoretically it's not that bad. I can hunt any tree in the woods with say a ten cranford steps, a set of heliums, a hand drill and set of bolts etc (all about a hundred bucks), a commercial saddle is about 200, or a fleece saddle DIY and cheap rch for say 50 bucks. ROS for say 60-80 bucks. 20 bucks in rope and 15 bucks in carabiners. Starting from zero with no diy i guess 400 or so? Or 300 with a ring of bolts. Not cheap, but not really worse than other mobile options, and cheaper than a crapton of preset stands. The problem is knowing how to spend that starting from zero, and in buying 500 different climbing methods, 6 platforms, and 65 different types of rope like some rope-totin' Charlie Bronson wannabe.

Yep, that's why I said "On the front end..."

I was guessing they would have sold out within an hour. Considering how many want the assassin.

I did too. I was very surprised when I noticed I could still get one, and then hours later there was still 32 left..

Makes me think there wasn't as much demand as expected, or the price point is higher than was expected. Either way, I would assume it spoke to the manufacturers. If constant complaints were being mentioned of the quality and lack of purchases, I'd bet they'd tighten up their quality, but I don't believe that will ever happen.
