Well its safe to say I'll have many methods to get to height depending on where I end up. I have a large arsenal thanks to this site.

Man this actually made me laugh out loud in the office. Now everyone is looking at me. I'm like, "I swear I'm doing work".
Yeah me too. I will say this, I gave up on Squirrel steps too quickly. I decided to give them a try again. I am use to lock on treestands so I thought platforms would be a smoother transition. I like the squirrel steps better then the platforms now. I think they're more comfortable and puts more of my weight in the saddle instead of my knees/legs/feet. I'll still use the platforms I have though.
I will be doing this later before leaving for up north. It requires a pretty short bolt because the alumibutton mounting hole is recessed. I think it needs 1/4-20 x 3/4in or 1in or maybe a bit shorter. I'll know later.
Yes, please do let us know and also specifically the bolt that you find fits.
To be clear, at this point two people have reported a bending bolt and I've seen other guys using the platform without the stock bolt bending. There's either inconsistency in the bolts or inconsistency in the way the platforms are being used (e.g. more severe of camming, heavier guys, tree diameter, etc.)
Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing. Don't drill through your post yet. Let the dust settle and see what happens.
I haven't bent mine yet, but I think the AlumiButton solves a huge issue as it has a shorter length / lower profile and the straps will be right on the post.
Try to get a bolt long enough that once tightened it's pushing against the back of the aluminum in the nut slot. My help stabilize the bolt a bit.
I’ve never found a tree in Oklahoma that is 100% ready for a hang on stand/platform. The ones that are “edge” trees are so thick and full of vines that you can’t hang anything. The deep woods trees are inaccessible until the first freeze and even then the saplings present an issue.
Saddle hunting has changed a lot of this for me because I can literally get away from the tree. I know this isn’t the point bc you are supposed to stay close to the trunk. Fortunately there’s enough concealment , even without leaves, to get away from the tree. The Ambush will allow more options just like you indicated.
Edit: I know I ripped this platform but after thinking about it longer, it made sense. Plus I guess I fell for it.

DanO AlumiButton... I used his washer or the button would not get tight. or you'd need a 7/8in 1/4-20 grade 8 bolt

Got this a moment ago, glad to hear they're being pro-active to address the problem:

We are contacting you because we have been recently made aware that some versa buttons on the ambush platforms have been bending during use. This issue is not hardware related but instead is caused by a slight hole discrepancy in the upright beam.
We apologize for this issue and want you to know we are addressing it right away. We have an upgraded button design that will be shipped out to everyone today via USPS, free of charge. The new button is constructed of steel and is equipped with a cylinder over the whole shaft to ensure a flush-mounted appearance and increased stability and strength.
In the meantime, your current versa button is still safe to use. Just be sure to install the sewn loops of the cam strap over the head of the versa button bolt completely, making sure the loop is not seated on the head of the bolt. The cam strap loops should be all the way on the base of the versa button bolt.
