I've been using the Alps outdoorz pack for all my hunts this year. I removed the lumbar strap (it detaches) since I'm carrying less than 20lbs these days. So far I like it.

Since finding the Highland Tactical cinch packs for $15, I am using one to carry my platform, sticks, tether, saddle, and linesman rope. There is a zippered pouch that I stick my license and flashlight in and I am ready to go for hunts less than 6 hrs, which is perfect since I never sit all day. If I need extra clothing, which is just a jacket, gloves, and maybe facemask, I put those in the jacket pockets and just carry it or tie it around my waist to walk in. I have the Tethrd hauler to use for additional items if needed too, or can add a fanny pack to the system.

Eberlestock X2 has been doing all I ask. Mostly a day pack but have hauled out deer too.

I think this poll needs to specify season (early, mid, late). Early season I use small pack and late I end up switching over to a large pack to haul outer layers.

Just started running MR treehouse in October it packs sticks great. Only thing is I run 3 different setups........ super small bag on JX3, MRTreehouse for all day/longer traditional saddle sits & small pack/ stuff jammed in pockets for a quick in & out

MR popup 28. Not sure where it falls in the spectrum. Medium I'd say? Others might call it a XL seeing what some people get into here. 28L gets a little small packing clothes below 30 degrees. There is supposed to be a 35L bag coming out for that platform next year. That would be about perfect for cold weather. Ideally I'd like to see a bag made of saddle cloth/suede, but the cordura is not a dealbreaker for me.

Frame is a must have feature both in how I pack my sticks and the ability to pack out a deer. Just utilized that Friday packing my buck out, it was great.

Eberlestock Bandit. 930 CI. Minimalist. Low profile that fits snug against the tree. Predator fits like a glove. Can lash winter layers on outside as needed.

Would like a small pack with some sort of frame support. Like school backpack sized, but framed with enough support to strap sticks onto it, or pack out a quartered deer.

I’m really looking at the bandit and the x2. I like the bandit and I think it’s big enough with the front flap that buckles up but I’m wondering if it carries well being that it has a small minimalist waist belt and no internal stays or frame. I like the x2 but thinks it weighs a ton and it’s a little big for my needs. I returned a badlands sprint because it doesn’t fit well enough and mainly because the material is very noisy. What are yours thoughts on the bandit ca the x2

I use this one in full pack mode. I would buy it again. It has a great waist belt that carries the weight on your hips and not your shoulders.

I've never seen this before but they only seem to be available on ebay. Did they get discontinued?
