Saddle Shape!

It worked for me too when I was your age. A bunch of years later, not so much. I've been watching what I eat and trying to stick to a 16-8 eating schedule.

Every deer season since I started remote camp hunting ( about 10 years now) I've lost 20 pounds between Oct 1st and Nov 15th. I have always gained it back pretty quick once I returned to my normal routine up until the last couple of years when I've made a fairly serious attempt to reduce my at work snacking.

I always attributed the loss to lowering my calorie intake, burning more energy walking and just staying warm while effectively living outdoors. I just heard from someone in the 250 challenge thread mention the 16-8 weight loss theory and realized it describes exactly what I do during my camping season. I get up, no breakfast and head out to hunt before light. Back in camp at noon I eat a light lunch, back out to the woods and in the tree by 3:00. Back in camp after dark for a dinner followed immediately by bed. Without trying I was only eating in an 8 hour window. I think there may be something to this. I'm trying to stick to this plan in this off season to see if it helps me maintain my weight loss this year. So far, so good . . .I'm down 40 pounds from the start of the 2018 deer season.

Before keto when I was going to hunt the following day I wouldn’t eat past 7 pm night before
And go #2 before I’d leave at 4am the day of the hunt
I’d sit all day usually (2019 hang in saddle) and not eat or drink until that evening
Mostly so I didn’t have to use the bathroom
Now that I’m on keto I don’t have to use the sit down function of the toilet as much

When I am on keto I go with an effort of 20g of carbs or less and 16 hours of intermittent fasting. At that I lose about 3lbs a week which is pretty awesome. A warning though even if alcohol can knock you out of ketosis even if your under your carbs

Please explain

I’m guessing you mean the alcohol part? So when your in ketosis your liver is breaking fats down into ketones, speeding up your weight loss. But if their is alcohol in your system the liver will focus on that first, slowing your weight loss, potentially significantly depending on how much you have drank.

I misspoke when I said it will knock you out(you won’t need to ketoflu again) but it could really effect your results

Ahhh ok
I’m usually not drinking more than a couple shots in a glass tumbler on rocks

@huck72412 is a bold-faced liar. He does not drink cola........

He drinks barley-pop. I seen't firsthand.

From all of the saddlepalooza stories I've heard I thought the only thing @huck72412 drank was bud light?

Or maybe he never drinks bud light except at saddlepalooza which would explain the dinosaur calling?

Saddle shape. That is why they have large saddles so we don’t have to worry about it.
I have been 200 pounds for 20 years. Likely 20 pounds over weight.
My diet?
Almost never have pop. Never have barley pop anymore seldom drink juice. Water coffee and a bit of milk. Dessert has to be fantastic to bother. I think if I had regularly consumed any of that sugary water or dessert for the last 20 years I would be 250 pounds like my brother
I call that an almost keto diet. Being mostly a carnivore and not a herbivore keeps the calories and carbs down too. That said I could lose 20 pounds but I don’t want to so don’t. I do fast and skip a meal if I am not working hard. So that may produce some keto effect
My diet down falls are potato chips and ice cream. If I had skipped those for the last 20 years I would be 180 pounds. My favorite ice cream is death by chocolate. - it will likely kill me but I like it
Exercise a very little bit. Just work hard. Cut wood walk fix machinery. Used play hockey.
Oh. I never take more than an apple to the tree. A good time fast.

hang in their I got off pop using gatoraid, then weened down to water. Go keto, stop eating packaged foods and eat wild game and gathered foods. no sugar use pure maple syrup, no bleached anything, bread substitute cabbage for sandwich bread then for bread fix eat english muffins. no milk use goats milk, no artificial low fat or diet anything, eat grass fed beef fat, bacon pretty much eat like great grandpa did. I lost 35# doing this. you will relapse its ok once you go to clean foods your energy level will be great inflammation will be low. when you relapse you will feel like crap next day or two just further confirming your new self that I need to stay on the diet. slowly your portion size and cravings will go away. it took me less than 8 months to loose 35+ pounds Good Luck was 276 now 234

It may have been mentioned, but...

To beat Keto flu, make sure you up your magnesium, potassium, and sodium intake. And, push your water intake to a gallon a day. You will transition without any symptoms s also, I start a keto transition with an 18 hour fast. It just drops you right into ketosis.

I did keto for a year and a half and lost 38lbs. Slowly gained 15 back after another 18 months off of it.

My wife didn’t like shopping/planning for two different diets. I just started doing intermittent fasting to try and simulate the keto effects. I’m doing 18 fasting, and a 6 hour food window. It’s working great so far, as long as I remember to not have ANY calories during the 18.
