I have the same saw. For tree and trail prep, it works great. I've cleared some pretty big log jams with it too this year to keep access to some duck holes open for myself.Kobalt 40 CORDLESS.
I can pack it in deep, throw it in my truck. I love that little thing.
Anybody used the new Stihl battery-powered chainsaws?
Yup. LiON tools make sense for me if you don't use them a lot of heavily. Carb motors don't like to sit in a corner for 8 months and then just pop out and do a 5 minute job and go back in the corner.Yes. The LiON batteries have come a long way but you don't get the runtime like you do out of a gas powered one. Performance wise the smaller ones perform similarly to their gas powered counterparts but beyond a certain size performance degrades considerably.
I started my MAC last week after sitting for 2+ months in 2 pulls, and it was 10 degrees out. Well maintained and tuned equipment should start and run regardless. Using ethanol free gas helps too.Yup. LiON tools make sense for me if you don't use them a lot of heavily. Not arguing with ya, cause you're right. Still love my little 'lectric limb vibrator.I started my MAC last week after sitting for 2+ months in 2 pulls, and it was 10 degrees out. Well maintained and tuned equipment should start and run regardless. Using ethanol free gas helps too.
Motor isn't the issue....ethanol fuel kills anything you let sit.....ethanol draws moisture from the air and fubars. The battery ones have their placeYup. What are you looking to cut? Your intended use makes a big difference in the answerWhat are you running? In scouring craigslist and other options, any thoughts or tips on what to look for?
I think this is the biggest key. To many people use the wrong gas in their small engines.Using ethanol free gas helps too.
Yup, And are use to junk equipment....plastic carburetors, inferior fuel line, you name it.I think this is the biggest key. To many people use the wrong gas in their small engines.
