It's just...a little crush... - Review of the JX3 Hybrid Saddle

Whew! What a read. I'm about to pull the trigger on a JX3. I started this season with a used Guidos and quickly sold it due to it being a sauna in warm weather. It looks like the JX3 fixed all of that. The reason I'm drawn to the Hybrid is it looks like a great meat hauler. I also use a LWHC, and it's just simply too wide for most packs. Has anyone hauled a quartered deer and a LWHC at the same time? Seems like I'd have to move the LWHC to the outside and keep the game bags inside. Think there's enough room for both inside? Thanks for all this great information, and kudos to @kyler1945 for these great videos here.

I’m fairly confident you will be very happy with the JX 3 if you go that route. It carries weight very comfortably, and while I have not packed out quarters I have loaded it down pretty good to see how it would carry. My plan when I do have some meat to pack is to strap my Lonewolf Hand climber as well as my small day pack to the outside while letting the game bags ride in between the back rest and the folded seat.

I haven’t tested it out but have thought about using the LWHC as an additional meat shelf on the outside & stuff some qtrs on the inside. It was a rigged up plan I had if I killed in a pretty deep spot. I wasn’t hiking out of there twice.

My LWHC has the post mod. If I can secure the post, it could serve as a great meat shelf.

What is the secret to ordering one, contacted JX3 outdoors three times to be told and I quote "Please check back with us if you haven’t received any updates in 2 weeks or so for we are working hard to fill prior orders...we apologize for not having anything available!". This is the third time. Must be a trick to it, maybe become one of their prostaff. lol

That's the response I received as well. I guess I should have been more specific and said I put my name on the waitlist, not placed an order. Sorry for the confusion.

I got those responses as well. I had enough but at least they saved me $400. And thats pretty neat!

Considering it’s the off season not sure why a backorder waiting list is a dealbreaker, was worth the wait for me but to each his own.

I got this as well. Waited two weeks and replied to that e-mail inquiring about how long and received a link to order. Said it’d be about four weeks but I was able to order.

I just spoke with John on the phone. Nice guy and very helpful. I asked him if the ones in stock are shipping with the load lifters and lashing straps. He said that those will be part of a "hauling" package that will be available for purchase in the future. I just placed my order for one. So excited to join Team JX3.

You can just chuckle to yourself when you see the "what are the best knee pad?" or "what is the right tether height?" threads! I always think in my head "Son, knee pads are for your GF and the right tether height is a high as you can go!" :grinning:

Pick up the phone. Call John. I assure you the response will be much more to your liking.

Further, that seems like a much, much better approach to not having stock than "Absolutely, I'll take your money, with no concept of when I'll be able to deliver your product." But maybe I'm a weirdo....

Finally, you likely would have no knowledge of the JX3 Hybrid existing without the efforts of the "prostaff" you speak of... John doesn't have a prostaff. He has a group of folks who purchased equipment from him, that like it, and in exchange for the value that equipment brings to them, they are happy to share information on the equipment. I take offense to the joke, though you meant none. Consider the whole situation before running your mouth. I've devoted dozens of hours to providing information on the hybrid, in hopes it helps some of you guys out. If you'd like, I'd be happy to stop, and you can figure it out for yourself??

Thanks for all your reviews. I was an early order buyer because of you and am glad I ordered it
Like you I am enthusiastic about it but have never received any product free.
I do like to see support for all the small companies producing these innovative products.
