It's just...a little crush... - Review of the JX3 Hybrid Saddle

Pick up the phone. Call John. I assure you the response will be much more to your liking.

Further, that seems like a much, much better approach to not having stock than "Absolutely, I'll take your money, with no concept of when I'll be able to deliver your product." But maybe I'm a weirdo....

Finally, you likely would have no knowledge of the JX3 Hybrid existing without the efforts of the "prostaff" you speak of... John doesn't have a prostaff. He has a group of folks who purchased equipment from him, that like it, and in exchange for the value that equipment brings to them, they are happy to share information on the equipment. I take offense to the joke, though you meant none. Consider the whole situation before running your mouth. I've devoted dozens of hours to providing information on the hybrid, in hopes it helps some of you guys out. If you'd like, I'd be happy to stop, and you can figure it out for yourself??

YEah, if it wasnt for @kyler1945, @Ontariofarmer , @Autumnrider , @parkersdad (and probably a few others) I would have very little useful info on the hybrid. IT took me forever to originally pull the trigger on a guidos after writign them off as silly, and I should have bought one earlier, but there wasnt that much info out there. These guys put the time in to come up with systems that work with the hybrid and answer most of my questions and concerns before I even had them. I'm looking forward to my upcoming season with my hybrid. I thank you all for your info, videos, effort, and openness to answer questions.

People gripe because the hybrid is a little bit heavier. However what gets lost in the conversation is that with the hybrid you do not need a platform. That saves 3 to 4 pounds right there. I use the top of whatever stick I am using at the time and two Ameristeps on the side of the tree on one Lone Wolf strap. This combination works perfect for me. I have no knee pain or foot pain and that makes a huge difference for me. I also sat all day long this year a couple of times and it is no problem. Also you do not need a backpack. The hybrid is your backpack. I use a small bag that hooks to my waist belt and that is it.John hit a homerun with this thing.

True on all of the above, and if you choose to use the LoneWolf as your climbing method you have a platform built in, and you can leave the lineman’s belt at home. More weight savings. I have never heard anyone who actually hunted with the Hybrid complain about the weight. It’s a non issue.

Amen brother!

A new hunter just posted this week about wanting to stop saddle hunting because it hurt his feet so much. I use 5 bolts for my platform and the only time I ever even have pressure on the bolts is when I'm walking around the tree to get a shot off on a deer. I sold my LWCG Ambush like it was the plague as soon as I used the jx3 (it was an awesome platform though, that I would still be using if not for the jx3). But I love not having to carry and set a platform!

Someone else was just saying they need to move every 20 to 30 minutes in their saddle, to adjust pressure points on their knees/legs to get comfortable. I know where he's coming from, in the dozen or so sits I used a saddle for, but there's no way in the world I would have kept hunting like that. Heck, I sit there and try not to move my eyeballs too rapidly when I hear them approaching lol. I'm sure I could have eventually gotten a bit more comfortable, but really disliked carrying the platform.

With that said, please don't take any of what I'm saying as saddle bashing. If it works for you, great, but it's a shame when someone stops using a saddle because they never knew about another option that could have been more comfortable for them. And I still want to try every saddle that hits the market, so I'll still be on the long waiting list for each one that's released and still following the "when will my saddle ship?" threads!

So I pulled the trigger yesterday in a JX3. Pretty sure I cannot wait. Have a few more questions. First, are they pretty good about sticking to around that 4 week range to ship?

Second, does it come with tether/ linesman belt?

, are there any add ons, mods, or useful tips? Are people changing out the bridge? I've seen a couple of options for that. Does anyone use an adjustable bridge with it?

Lastly, I've heard possible load lifters and a blind chair option could be coming as ad on. Are there any other rumors of new JX3 additions?

Yes it comes with the lineman’s belt and tether. I like the bridge as is. Please try it before you take it off. It is slick how it works. As far as shipping, Jon has never lied to me on anything. Both of my shipments arrived on time

You’ll have everything you need right out of the box,
I see no reason to change the stock bridge.

Can some post me a picture of how beast sticks pack with the jx3. I know I’ve seen a picture somewhere but I can not find it.

Also has anyone used the jx3 with a lone wolf hand climber top if so how did that work for you.

I happened to be looking at these when I saw your post. Bottom of page 3.

What is the width of the bottom where the sticks go? My JX3 won't be here until later this winter/spring, but I'd like to mod sticks now. I need to know how much space is necessary between the standoffs and steps so it will straddle the back. I'm going to make it pretty tight so my step spacing isn't too long, so a fairly accurate measurement would be appreciated. Also, how thick is the frame?

I'm modding some API huntin' sticks to approximate beast sticks. I think I've been through just about every mod page on the site, and I have a plan that should make some real nice, compact sticks that fit the JX3 well. If they turn out I'll be sure to post.

I love it. By carrying on the outside I can fit clothes and stuff in the inside. To be fair, I dont walk 2 miles thru frag and brush to get to my spots. But I do walk up to a mile with no problems.

I, like @DaveT1963 wonder about shooting a stick bow out of one. Has anybody tried to shoot trad out of the JX3? Is there anybody in the central Illinois area that would let me try one out for a half hour?

I've been shooting my 64" brown recluse out of a guidos for the last couple seasons l, and my asbell bighorn 60" out of it this year. I just got a jx3 last month and expect it to be similar. No problem with theguidos, especially if you have practiced sitting shots in the past. Just like shooting sitting on the nifty seat.

There's a couple good videos of shooting a stick bow out of a guidos on youtube.
