How many deer have you killed?

I’m 36 and on my 5th season. Definitely an adult onset hunter. I’ve killed 7 deer. 3 with my recurve and 4 with my shotgun (3 out of a saddle with the slugger, this was my first year saddle hunting)1 buck which was my first deer (taken off the ground less than 5 yards away with my recurve). Took until my 3rd season to make it happen. I killed the buck and three does on highly pressured public land in southeast PA, the rest were on small private properties I had permission on. Still have my buck tag and a few doe tags for the last couple weeks of this season. I agree that it’s not a competition but I like keeping track of my experiences since hunting has become somewhat of an obsession for me, hopefully one day I’ll lose track but for now I’ll keep counting.

I am 47. I have hunted for 4 seasons as an adult and 2 as a youth. I killed 1 doe when I was 15. I have killed 14 in the 4 seasons I've hunted as an adult bringing the grand total to 15. I am hoping to get out for the last time tonight and/or tomorrow evening and get 1 more for the close of the 2019/2020 season. The current season total is 6.

I'm 44 started hunting at 39. 1st season was shotgun only. Picked up a bow before next season. So 5th season shotgun, 4th season bow. Have only killed 2, 1st deer with bow, second with shotgun. Both in same year. Havent got one since. But I'll keep trying.

I am 33. I killed my first deer around 10, but only went a few times a season until I turned 16. I just started keeping a detailed journal of hunts this year, but I can remember 26 kills. There may be a doe or two that I can't recall. Over the past 6 season I have only killed 7 deer, but they have all been 3.5+ yr old bucks. I have been strictly run n gun style hunting for the last 4 seasons from the ground. This was the first year in the saddle and that will be my primary style from now on.

After this season I am at 88 whitetails. 2 bucks and four does this season.

Started Deer hunting in November of 2016
North Alabama
4th full season.
4 deer
Last year I got my first Deer which was a small buck, followed by a doe the very next hunt. This year I’ve taken a doe (from a saddle to boot) and I’m hoping to take at least one more deer.
Archery only
Public Land only
I won’t tell y’all how many I missed those first two seasons

Update after a tough tough season:

How old you are: 30
When you started: 10ish.. I'd say I didn't actually start hunting hunting til I was 24
How many seasons: Due to college and getting grounded from hunting 1 year in high school (long story :tearsofjoy:) I'd say no more than 14 years
Where you generally hunt: 100% Maryland up to this point
And how many deer you've kilt! 18

5 antlered, 13 antlerless
4 private (1 antlered), 14 public (4 antlered)
1 rifle, 5 shotgun (2 antlered), 12 archery (3 antlered)

I've been bowhunting for 35 years and gun hunting for big game for 33, I've gotten at least one deer every year since I started but I usually harvest 2 a year sometimes 3 or 4 depending on the number of DMP tags. I've had a few blank seasons in between during my college years but not too many. I've never hunted out of state until this year. I've harvested two this year in NY. I'm still hoping for a buck in PA. This is the last week of the late archery season. So I don't know how many overall during my lifetime but I would say quite a few. I've shot deer with a bow, shotgun, rifle and muzzleloader. Crossbow's were not legal here in NY until very recently so I've not hunted much with one. I find it easier to hunt with a vertical bow but I'm seriously considering the Mini from Hickory Creek Outdoors to see how that will be. Sometime I'll post a pick of some of my better bucks that I have had mounted.

33 years old, killed around 200 deer. Hunted in 9 different states. IL, TN, IA, OH, NC, VA, WVA, KY, MO.

How old you are 46

When you started 16yo big game, 12yo small game.

How many seasons 31 big game, 35 small game

Where you're from/where you generally hunt NY, PA, NJ, CT

And how many deer you've kilt! Probably around 70. Got a buck almost every year (started hunting mature bucks 7 years ago), a couple years I didn't shoot anything and a couple over past 5 years that I shot 15 to 20 each year (unlimited DMP those years) that were mostly donated to the local food pantry. Was like a part time job dressing that many so only shoot a couple every season these days.

And shot my second one of this season today so I guess that makes about 71!

Well this is quite an interesting post. Let see here:

Age: 31
Started: 10
Seasons: 19 (took time off from it in the army)
Location: Southwest Missouri
Hunt: Public and private
Kill streak: 60+

I usually kill three a year (this year it was 6, including a decent buck). Mostly it was whatever walked im front of me, only in the last 4-5 seasons have i started “horn hunting”. So far, out of my brothers, i have the most big buck kills (2 with bow, 3 with gun), closest is eldest brother who has 3 big buck kills, all with gun. My dad has more kills, both big buck and just kills, but he also has 36 years more experience with hunting.
This will be my first year saddle hunting, hoping to do more public land hunting.

Wow! Don’t really know but started bow & gun hunting 1969. Gave up the modern gun after a few dozen gun kills. Will make a muzzle hunt every so often with friends & family. Nothing like bow hunting! Over the years have been averaging 5 in state & 2 out of state bow deer kills. Have also taken over 100 feral hogs & a few dozen turkey with my bow. First attempt at self filming was 1993. Shot a nice P&Y but the footage was a complete failure. Have made major improvements in that area over the decades but trying to capture the kill still cost me a good buck every now & then. I enjoy the challenge of hunting public land which is where I’ve learned so much. Made all the mistakes. Have had opportunity to hunt private every now & then. Could write a book from 50 years of bow hunting adventure. Maybe call it “The Good, The Bad & The Ugly - Mostly Good”

And we're up to 30! First year I've hit double digits, and I did it with a week of season to spare and despite missing 2 does during archery season. Also took Thanksgiving to Christmas off to duck hunt.

Might try to shoot for 20 next year...

I'm 50 and I've been hunting as long as I can remember. I think I was 14 when I harvested my first deer and I really have no idea on the total number at this point. Probably about as many as CWD:)
