I have very little experience in ground in past i always used a climbing tree stand. I enjoy hunting from tree saddle more i am in my upper 40s so hunting from ground this year is going changling for me. i Have a really nice ghillie suit light weight light wieght 2lbs ghillie suit (Kill Suit Desert and Grassland Camo for Predator Hunting). I will not be doing any spot and stalk because most of places i will hunting are 200 Acres or less. the type of habitat i am hunting is marsh , woods and farmland. Some of spots i plan on hunting this year you cant hunt from tree from even with a saddle. This is my question to those of you that have expeirnce hunting the ground about this product i found on Youtube. I just wanted some of your opionions on this product if you would buy it or not. Of course its not going to be good for every situtian. It cost $70.00 between 1lbs and 2lbs depending on which one you buy . I justed wanted to know if thinks its worth the money.

You mentioned hunting in marsh and farmland. I frequently hunt from the ground and it's usually because there aren't any suitable trees to hang from the saddle. I carry a lightweight, foldable kayak chair/ camping chair/turkey hunting chair that serves other purposes to justify the purchase for me. These chairs are very comforable. It'll fold down and fit in a bigger backpack. There's an aluminum version and a steel version which justifies the price difference. Larry Chair Amazon link.

I second the Waldrop pacseat. It is great because you can lean it against an existing tree, use it as a seat in a blind or use it in some brush where there is not a tree you can lean against. It is comfortable too and it is a pack frame so it us easy to carry in.

I use hunt central Wisconsin and it was mostly woods and farmland never needed hunting from the ground. Hunting marshs its just a lot more difficult I thought. I watch Dan Infalt DVDs love that guy. I can see why those bucks get so big In those marshes just looking something mobile light weight I got great advice on ghillie suit. from a post I did before so I was hoping I might get lucky again.

I’m finally getting around to ordering a Waldrop. I’ve wanted one for years. I’m hunting a lot of marsh edge as well. Not many trees and shots should be close. Nothing is walking around in silence so should be able to get positioned in plenty of time.

I've heard good things about the Waldrop seat too. I already had the "Larry chair" and it serves multiple purposes for me so it was a win win in that aspect. If I just needed a hunting and camp chair, I'd probably look into the Waldrop.

Check out Bow Ninja’s videos on YouTube. One of them explains his ground hunting method in depth. He sits directly on the ground. Short, cool videos.

The Hammock Chair is not $70.00 check out the link for buying option. I hunt from it and love it, super light and is very comfortable. I would recommend it, as I hunt farmland as well and can't get a saddle in most of the trees being to low or thin. I used the hammock seat just last week and had 17 deer within 30yards of me and never even knew I was there, drawed twice but did not pull the trigger on one! A ghillie suit is not needed as long as you are sitting still and quiet. This seat is comfortable enough for you to do just that, you may even take a nap, lol! Good luck this season!

Waldrop chair looks great, it is the price tag that keeps me from getting one! But the Waldrop chair is solid choice as well!

Man this site is terrible, here I was thinking everything was fine in the world with my current seat & then you show me this..........

ha, it’s a cool piece of kit. easy enough to build yourself if you have the time and resources. But the guy is cool and the chair works great.

That's another reason I'm sticking with the Larry Chair. That bar across the front of that pac seat would eventually dig in too I'm guessing.
