I tried the stepp knot today and I think it is easier than the Whoopie sling. I also adjusted the bolt so the seat is a little flatter and tightened up all the other bolts so there isn't any play. Im excited to hunt with it this season as I only got to try it once last year and I wasn't really ready to use it. I had been using a padded muddy stick for years as my platform with a Cranford step or two and it would always make my feet pretty sore. I would like to try out a steppladder step too but I think it is gonna be a little uncomfortable like the muddy stick.

Ernie any chance you are still making kits for people? I would try to do it myself but I don't have access to the power tools needed to construct. Thanks a bunch.

Got mine in the mail the other day. Very nice. Much more professional than my hack job.

Left is XOP platform from Ernie. Right is old LoneWolf seat.

Again - Ernie's platform is amazing. If you're considering a platform, get his.

Which seat seems sturdier?

Xop. No question. However, I actually like the size of the LW seat. I think the XOP is too big.

Maybe. I ran into a situation where the adjustment screw was a lot higher on the lone wolf than the xop. It's really easy to tell. Can you measure the distance from the pivot hole to the adjustment screw at 90 degrees to the actual seat?

If it is higher by the way, I can make a custom post with the striker plate mounted higher

My favorite is actually .made from an old lone wolf seat. I warn you though, they are crazy hard to find. It's the one on the right in this picture.

I just stand on the very edge of it most of the time.

I'm with you. I love my Klemz platforms. Only a couple pounds and enough to do what I need to do.

After a year, it's by far my favorite platform. I keep looking for another stand to pirate, but they are hard to find. I especially like it when hand gun hunting. I never even circle the tree then. Sometimes I'll add two ameristeps at 12 and 3 o'clock (I'm a lefty) to make it easier to circle the tree with my bow.

I have 4 of them. I loan many out. I only have a couple left. Plus an extra seat. We bought out a lot of stock last year and built platforms

Wow, If you have an extra green seat with the bigger teeth, (not the grey one with the little teeth) and would be willing to sell it, let me know. That would be awesome.
