If this has already been posted....I apologize, I did not see it in my initial glance.

Hand spliced on both. Not sure of the difference in the tether and lineman other than the color. Both are the same length and the eye length is listed as the same.

Look interesting. Wish they wouldn't advertise based on the rope strength while leaving out the cord strength.

I jumped on a couple sets... no notice on shipping out yet. I can give update once I have them in hand.

you mean the hitch cord? yeah i'd like to know exactly what the ropes/cords actually are. safe to say tethrd doesn't make rope. by the appearance and description, looks like a double braid w/ some kind of dyneema/spectra core I'd guess. Damn and it's rated for like 9000 lb? seems like with that weight rating the entire core must be dyneema.

There's a double braid amsteel. Might be that with some rounding. Looks similar.

Got my ropes in today. They appear nice. No true identification on what type of ropes they are, which is smart from a sales standpoint. The hitch cord, which I've retied into a schwabish, appears to be 7mm. It is slick at first, but holds well when you put a bit of tension on it.
I wonder how difficult these hand splices are to perform. Need to know type of rope first, obviously.
A good product and reasonable value, in my opinion.

No rating on the hitch cord, I agree it would be nice to know that.

I’ve seen Ernie from Tethrd and the guys from the hunting public using these ropes with a ropeman 1. Wonder how that works?!

There are plenty of people that use oplux with ropemans, but they are 100% out of spec in doing so.

The way we use these there isn't much stress on them, if there was a fall it's only a few inches at most(if you're doing things correctly). Also most of those guys are 175# soaking wet. While it may "work" it's not rated nor recommended. At 250 pounds, you can bet your ass I'm using in spec rope haha.

Yeah, I mean a grown man making his own decisions... the audacity.

I wasn’t questioning their decision making so much as wondering why they would still prefer the ropeman over the duck or CT roll n lock. I’ve had them all and like the latter two more. Obviously more power to anyone doing what they want. It’s also a bit different for the THP guys to do what they want versus the Tethrd guys not selling the smaller clamps yet selling smaller ropes. And now I see they are so I guess that answered my question.

A bit pricey for some Chinese rope.

I don't think that's correct. He said, "they are a proprietary rope blend made specifically for Tethrd. They are made and tested by an internationally known manufacturer, but they are a tethrd exclusive". Sterling is internationally known (based in the USA) and one of the best rope makers in the business. Not sure that statement means it's cheap Chinese rope. He also said in some other post they were made in the USA. But I can't find it.

EDIT: I found it ... "only some of the products are made in China. Our flagship stuff, (phantom, predator, predator xl, 8mm ropes. ) are all domestic."
