I just ordered a pair of Wolverine hands/gloves. I ordered them from Alibaba, says they are titanium blades. Obviusly I will just claw my way up the tree to hunting height. When hunting private land I will just dig in the tips and slide down the tree. When on public I'm thinking I will still have to rappel as I don't want to give away my best spots by leaving claw marks running vertically down the tree. Although that might scare the bejesus out of guys thinking a yeti is living in the area and they abandon it all together. Feel totaly confident in this method. If it works as anticipated I think I will go for the injections and get the real deal. Then I can just jump out of the tree when done. Second thought I won't even need a weapon anymore....

You mean these?

I have been using these as my climbing method for years. Where you guys been? I call them my "hand spurs". I just didn't want to say anything, because the Saddle Hunter effect will occur and they will be unavailable for the next 25 years...

Hey guys, been wanting to get into self filming but concerned about the extra scent from the camera gear. Anybody come up with a mod to mount my ozonics on the camera arm so the ozone is always blowing where the camera is pointed?

You can also get an extra 15" of height using one stick above your ladder stand. To shed bulk and be a mobile hunter, I recommend a scout platform when doing this. JX3 is a good option too, because it offers twice the comfort of any ladder stand, with its infinite adjustability.

I know it seems unnecessarily complicated to the guys that are hanging ladder stands 15" off the ground and using an aider to climb up to the first ladder rung, but I like the adrenaline rush of sticking at height with my linemans belt hanging at ankle height.

...but have you ever tried hanging a ladder stand upside down and using the legs at hunting height as a platform to push off of?

I think @Squirrels is on to the lightest weight low bulk packable option. We should have known since it is his handle.

Climb up with titanium squirrel claws to simulate sounds most often heard in the woods and then order up a squirrel suit to jump to the next limb and fly down into a leaf pile. If you are sure to tuck, roll, and rustle around it keeps your ground scent to a minimum!

I just can't decide which pattern to go with the grey squirrel, red squirrel, or a different color phase? Maybe I will buy them all just to try. I just hope the squirrel suit has windstopper because I am only planning on wearing a cotton union suit underneath for 24 hour sits.

Anyone have a good source for cheap titanium blades?

Keep an eye on the classifieds - lots of gear is going to be going up for sale any minute now!!!!
Will probably all sell in 39 seconds though

I climb using the one stick method but just cut my climbing stick in half to save some weight....Am I now employing a half stick climbing method?

Also...

My approach is to climb half way to where I want to hang during each move. But I never seem to get there.

I tried these before I went to the Wolverine blades. These have latex in them and I kept getting scent busted so abandon them. If the made and activated carbon verson I might give them another go.

Hey guys I was thinking of a new climbing method that involves a custom 1 stick with a boat cleat, and a seperate hawk helium mini, and these:BEE8C9DA-4840-4522-AFC6-012BC0466ADE.png
Has anything thike this been tried before, I think it would be so much better because you are actually 2 sticking and using the claws to climb back and forth to advance the sticks

Time to reveal another top secret climbing/rappelling system:

Ever wonder why you find so many mylar balloons in the woods? I use them to float up to hunting height.

...and when I want to come down? I just let go of 5 or 6 of them. The ultimate lightweight climbing/rappelling system. It weighs -8 ounces...

if you do it on public land, is it called "free floating"?

The key to the system is heavy boots and finding the right balloon-to-weight ratio. First, I put my Crocs on, then I slip my Croc'd up feet into the heavy boots. When I get to the tree, I take the boots off, which lightens the load just enough for the balloons to lift me and allows me to hunt in Crocs, since I hear that's what you have to do to be successful.

Then at last light, I let go of 5 or 6 balloons, and slowly descend back down. If I do it right, I can strategically fall right back into the boots. Then I don't have to pack anything up at the base of the tree. It is a super streamlined system, once you fiddle-faddle all of the fiddle-factor.
