One Sticking - Single Sticking

Ive heard fellas are rappelling too... whats the best one?

If you thought climbing a tree made you feel you feel young again..... just pile leaves up at the bottom of the tree and jump at the end of the hunt. It’s called no rope rappelling. Super light packing in. Not quiet at the end. Very fast descent.

No, DanO is good for double steps and the best gear, but only O’Dan at twelvesteps.biz sells the pigeon seat...
Seriously?? Now I have to go register another domain name. (Edit: too late)

One sticking, that's like the pole vaulter thingy right? Just run up to the tree with your one stick and vault up to your desired height? I could see knee pads being helpful and possibly a helmet. Those poles are fairly light, right?

Last weekend I got setup and realized I had left my stick at the base of the tree. I use a Summit base as a platform so I was able to get my knees on that to take pressure off my Plfleustronish hitch and slowly increment down the tree to retrieve the stick. I shoulda tried this at home before attempting it after three tabs of LSD at 2AM behind a Wendy’s.

30' metal ladder aider. Packs in light enough.

Those work awesome, but I feel like it gets hung up a bunch while I walk to my spot. Now I go in deeper than others, often over 37yds from the nearest access point, so maybe folks that don't travel so far aren't having that issue.

Lately, I've incorporated this telescoping post with holes for single sticking. It's great. I'm getting 8ft each move.

Here's how it's done. Carry a bag of grade 8 bolts. They serve two purposes:
1. Use them to pin the post in the extended position
2. Plug them into the holes as you go and you have handholds and footholds just about wherever you like, almost like tree bolts. When the weather is poor I put a bolt in every hole to maximize safety while climbing.

I'm not marketing this commercially yet because someone said the One Stick will be on sale next decade and they are going to offer the standoff separately. I know guys are clamoring for that, as it puts your foot really close to the tree with its short standoff distance, which is essential to building calf muscles.

If you're having questions about exactly how to do this, don't message me. There is a green "chat" tab on the website that puts you in contact with a subject matter expert.

I do almost the same thing. The only difference is I made a homemade pole out of some PVC and use the bolts that came with my toddler’s work bench. They are lighter and I feel just as safe with them, even though they are out of spec. That also allows me to avoid ordering any shadow strips or fat tape from O’Dan.
