I just wanted to show off some pictures of my DIY carbon fiber climbing sticks with 3d printed steps and standoffs. Hopefully this can spark some ideas for others. I have about a half a season hunting with these and I really like them. They are pretty light (1.72lbs) and really quiet. The only minor problem I've run into is that I have to keep an eye out when pulling up my bow on hard barked trees (like popples) to not bump the stick while pulling it up. There was one time where I bumped one of the sticks pulling my bow up and the stick came unset so I had to reset the stick with by feet on the way down. I also upgraded the connection strap to something similar to the Tethrd sticks. This connection is really slick and works really well. For the materials I used 30mm round carbon fiber tubing that was 500mm long and I printed the steps with PETG with a carbon fiber infill. The biggest hassle with making these was drilling the holes in the round carbon fiber tubing. If I were to do it again I would probably spend some time making a jig to help drill the holes. Let me know if you guys have any questions

Super cool! How did you do the rope cleat?
I would just do a couple wraps around the post part and then weave through the slots. I just noticed that I would have to make my wraps clockwise otherwise the button would try and rotate on me once I put weight on the stick.

how did you make the clear though?

Nice. I chose to use a square CF tube for mine, that way I can add commercial standoffs pretty easily, if I want. For now that's not part of the plan but I'm just starting mine. 1.7 pounds for each stick or the set? It's hard to tell from the picture.

Yeah square tubing would make life a lot easier. I just went with the round tubing because it was quite a bit cheaper. They are about 1.7 lbs per stick which isn't super light but not bad considering the amount of money that I have into them.
