UPS has been better than USPS for a while now. I just shipped a 6# box to Missouri for $21 and USPS wanted $36 and that was for parcel post (the slowest). I didn’t even want to know what Priority was and said, “Give me the “insert expletive” box and I’ll send it UPS.”

I like FedEx. A little cheaper on the bigger stuff and the delivery time has been spot on. I shipped from md to va and it probably took them 12 hours to get it there

Shipping cost is the reason I haven’t tried to sell my JX3.

I typically use usps flat rate. It doesn’t matter what the weight as long as it fits in the box. As much as I dislike the wait time sometimes it’s worth it. UPS store is different than UPS so check with UPS and skip the store.

I thought UPS and the UPS store were the same until I tried to ship a firearm back to Ruger. UPS store freaked out that I was even in the building with a firearm even though it was packaged according to Ruger. Apparently the UPS store is totally separate. We do have a UPS hub that will ship without all the fuss.

I just know I have an account and do everything online and when I am waiting to drop stuff off at the counter it seems like people are just getting hammered when they let store employees set the price, maybe I am wrong but thats what I see on a daily basis, Promo Code EASY usually works too, I never round my measurements up always down, there system only accepts whole numbers

Firearms must go through a customer center at a UPS terminal and not the store, I just went through this Monday

I ended up having Ruger make a shipping label and scheduling a pick up from FedEx. They came to my door and picked it up. We live about 40 miles from the nearest big town so that was the easiest way to go. That’s the reason why I end up using USPS so much.

Shipping seemed like it really jumped this past year.... or my memory has just gotten a whole lot worse haha. It definitely does make it hard to buy and sell, unless it’s stuff you can really pack down.

Yeah i'm increasingly shocked at the price to ship some seemingly small items through USPS. Some items are just awkward to pack and ship and you take a big hit with shipping because of the dimensions. If it's a treestand, or something large, you're better off selling locally or having the buyer pay shipping. Guess it's good motivation to keep items and not turn around and resell them for a loss ha.

The trick with usps is not to have a box over a cubic foot. Anything over gets a surcharge. They pay for space on commercial airlines to transport it.

Why I don't understand is how everything you buy from a manufacturer is fee shipping especially if you buy over a certain amount... they mark things up that much?

What are you guys doing for shipping? I just got nailed for 43$ at ups for 4 hawk sticks and they wanted 100$ for shipping a lone wolf assault. Makes selling or buying gear not even worth it.
