Women and saddles - how to pee?!

I realize this is probably not going to be a very popular topic in a predominately male forum :grimacing: (and also somewhat embarrassing), but if there are some women out there with any advice I’d love to hear it.
I recently purchased my saddle setup and am trying to figure out how the heck I will pee on stand. With a wider platform (treestand, climber) I can easily widen my stance and use something similar to a go-girl/she-wee without a problem or mess. What are you girls out there doing for saddle hunting? There has to be some females doing some long enough sits for this topic I’d think. Thanks! And sorry guys haha.

No worries. I have no ideas for you, but I just wanted to ease your mind about the topic. The one thing I do know is that when Mother nature does call everyone hears.

If you use a ROS in combo with a platform would that allow you widen your stance enough to to use your device? You could even put more of the steps together at one point to give you better purchase. Otherwise, the LWCG .5 may be the ticket.

First of all, welcome from the Sandhills. I have only some non-gender specific thoughts on this. In four years of hunting, I never had the need to think about #1 or even #2 while on the stand or in the saddle. Probably because I don't sit longer than 3- 4 hours. Yep, that's right, no all day sits (hangs) for me. With that said, I plan accordingly and do my business before climbing. Should #2 become an issue, I'll bite the bullet and come down. As I said before, due to a good business plan, that has not been an issue for the last 4 hunting seasons. I hope a female fellow saddle hunter is on the site here and can provide some insight. (female fellow... is that an oxymoron?)

Advice from a guy here:

A 2 panel saddle is probably the winner for women for this purpose. You'll just have to arrange the 2 panels and disconnect the leg loops to move clothing.

For a 1 panel saddle: If your saddle belt is up over your hip bones and tight (I would work it down under my layers so it is less likely to slip), you should be able to disconnect leg loops, unweight the saddle and then flip the bottom of the saddle up your back (inside out). This will keep you from having on loosen and move your belt.

I've always wondered why more hunting clothes don't come with magnetic trap doors for both sexes.

Like raisins said a sling or 2 panel would probably work best. Another option for a single panel might be to adjust the saddle up to lower back after attaching a linemans rope for additional stability.

Might want to simulate that close to the ground a couple times to be sure.

Great question, great post.

Eberhart talks about climbing down for number 2, so that is always an option - but I wouldn't want to do that. You need a better plan. Where I get hung up on here is dealing with all the layers while suspended - frankly that is hard enough me as a man.

" Another option for a single panel might be to adjust the saddle up to lower back after attaching a linemans rope for additional stability" I could see this working. I think you could with a reasonable degree of safety get into a squat with with the saddle/linemans under your armpits. A bit tricky...

It's not hard to to a quick rappel then SRT back up for those emergency bathroom trips. Don't think I'd want to risk dropping my head accidentally onto where you #2'd from your platform...

I think it all depends........ maximum strength depends....

I would prefer to have my wife go down to the ground to take care of her business....seems sketchy for her to try to do 20ft up in a saddle..

What? How are you gonna smush your head into a Scud missile laying in the leaves?

Yeah, having a saddle loose and that close to slipping up and over your arms/shoulders is sketchy, especially if you are just starting out.

Strictly taking about a woman going number one this seems like the most viable option for someone already competent/comfortable using a she wee. A squirrel step on any platform strap, or a secondary strap, should give you the room you need to widen your stance

For safety. Probably not the most comfortable. But what about layering in a rock harness underneath your cloths. If nature calls. You can tie into the RC harness, and loosen or drop the saddle. Add some steps to the side of your platform if more room is needed.

This is what my wife uses but not the wish version, also she hasn't used it yet while out of the saddle but I imagine it would work......
