Anyone try this thing yet? Is it overrated? Just a gimmick? I’ve seen some selling for a lot cheaper than the website so I was wondering if it’s worth the cash.

I am not a experienced saddle hunter yet. But is your bottom getting cold a issue with a saddle? I just can't imagine that if it's that cold that your bottom would get cold thru your layers of clothing before feet, fingers or your face. But again im not a experienced saddle hunter yet. Hope this year will be my first season.

Yeah. Exactly the questions I’m wondering. This will be my first year saddle hunting. I want to be efficient in my gear and also safe/comfortable. But I don’t want to just get gear because it ‘looks cool’ in pictures or because it’s just an item being marketed. But, if it actually has a real place then I’m definitely interested.

I have it, use it and really like it, for multiple years now. Some say you don't need it, but when you crush insulating layers, it renders the insulation useless. On them cold, windy, snowy days, my posterior is toasty.

Maybe need to start adding pockets to the saddles. For some hand warmers. Lol

Hand warmers in your back pockets if things get too rough. Never been an issue for me in N. AL.

Imagine lining your saddle seat with fleece would be a less expensive option.

My wife likes it, I hated it.

I am looking at switching to Broadside or Versa Skin as I can attach my saddle under the camo.

What is that? I’m new to saddle hunting. Sounds interesting though.

When you look they have a saddle option. It cuts the clothing for pass thru.

I was hoping IWOM would make that option, guess my wife is planning a DIY solution.

I made one out of an old wool blanket and some camo netting I had laying around. I used it a couple of times, deciding that if it was cold and windy I might use it again. Last winter was pretty mild so I didn't even take it out of the bin.

I will say it definitely works. I bought one when it first came out. Always had it on when the temps started dropping. I decided to leave it one day and noticed a big difference. My arse was very noticeably cold compared to when I used the SBW.

I use mine frequently in NE PA, especially the late season. It works like a hammock under-quilt. Compressing your hunting layers will never allow the warmth to be retained as it will on the uncompressed portions.

I hunt a lot of colder weather in northern Michigan. I've never used a separate butt insulator and I can say the last thing I notice getting cold is my behind. Generally I get cold in the following order .. .Fingers, toes, ears, core. Funny how butt never seems to enter into the equation for me.

I’m the same. However, when I get back to camp I find my butt is cold to touch and takes forever to warm up.
Weird
