I saw this on Facebook and was SHOCKED that there hadn't been a post about it. Looks like XOP's saddle/harness is available. I'm not interested at all but you guys should at least be talking about it.

Looks a little weird to me, but the price is certainly right for someone just getting into saddle hunting at $130. It's also TMA certified as a tree stand harness.

Woa! Did not know about this one. I’m not interested either except that it also doubles as a tree stand harness. That feature does actually interest me.

Wow, that $130 price tag INCLUDES tether and LB with biners! Obviously at that price it’s not going to have the lightest, best materials and accessories but it could be a very viable low cost option…. Good play by XOP, I’d say.

Doesn't look comfortable at all in those pictures but I love the concept. I hunt backwards on hang on stands a lot and something like this would be super useful.

Hard pass from me. Back tether is sewn in and unnecessary imo.
If you’re in a hang on you better have a full body harness with a tether like that to decrease the drop forces. Saddles by themselves are not designed to arrest a fall. Saddles are essentially work positioning devices. Having a saddle and the fall arrest harness together gives you the ability to do both.

I like the concept but after owning an older xop vanish it’s a pass for me

Interesting for sure! I mainly look at it wondering if Lone Wolf or Lone Wolf custom gear will start making saddle stuff besides platforms now.

Yeah. Those straps running up the butt look terribly uncomfortable. And I think a loop for a biner instead of the sewn strap on the back would've been nice. I'm guessing it's required for TMA certification or something. But it's essentially a $130 tree stand harness that gives people a taste of saddle hunting.

Yeah. Those straps running up the butt look terribly uncomfortable.

A couple of the DIY saddles I’ve made have straps like that. I didn’t find them uncomfortable at all, but I never wore my leg straps as tight as that! They probably could have loosened them a bit for the photo shoot to not get the wedgie look quite so much….

A economical saddle that is TSA certified, at the price of a fall restraint vest. I think this is good for those making transition from tree stand, and not totally sold on it. I mean if was 10 years ago, I would of because had stands invested in and needed updated harness.

This is a good concept, XOP makes good products overall, their cheap and imported, but serviceable not premium and priced for the everyman. Cody dropped a video on youtube running through it and biggest thing is there is no bridge. Lineman's doubles as a bridge, which creates a safety issue.

Many of us use suspenders already, and this should be copied by one of the higher quality manufactures. One type of leg loop, a loop and retainer to clip the rear attachment point over your shoulder and out of the way when using the saddle portion, and Molle webbing for dump pouches. Should be able to hit a competitive price point, and then sell a rope kit with upgraded components since alot of us have our own ropes. Would make a good universal rig for guys that hunt public and private or a mix of permanent stands and run and gun based on rut action etc.
