2022 Bows...Wish List & Expectations

With 2022 upon us, for some manufacturers that means new bows to add to their line-ups. I've heard rumors that a few companies won't create a new bow for 2022 due to material shortages, however I've not heard which companies. Any company that decides not to produce a new bow will unfortunately be at a disadvantage in 2022.

Personally, I'd like to see companies follow the leaders (Bowtech & Elite) in ease of tuning systems. I will be buying a new bow next year and unless other companies can get with the program, it'll be a Bowtech or Elite due to tuning alone.

What do you want to see out of companies?

just picked up a new Hoyt Torrex XT this year -- but the shop did say things were tight (also doesn't help that I am a lefty). But I second your ease of tuning request.

I would like to see a trend in reduction of bare bow weight from flagships. Mathews used to be pretty good at keeping their bows under 4 lbs but recently they are pushing 5lbs like other manufacturers. I understand heavier bows are more stable but I still like something that I can carry easier.

Like you said @ThumbsMcGee, I would like to see a continuation of user/consumer oriented mechanisms or systems on these new bows that will allow the DIY person to completely set up his/her bow themselves. Like Bowtech and Elite or even perhaps how PSE has started to utilize the use of their cable guard and their new yoke system to allow for adjustment of some horizontal arrow flight issues.

I’d like to see price reduction. Let’s face it, no huge major advances in the last few years. The same reverberated garbage about being quiet ,“shock free”, and the constant speed war. I want a bow that’s affordable , tunes easy , and please could someone make a standard for the rest section of a bow. Years ago a rest was a rest. Now you have several different bow brand specific mounts. I find my self going back to cheaper older style bows. Cheap and not as many parts in several cases.

The roller guard for the newer Mathews is exact center with where the rest should be located which I heard made setup a lot easier. I do think the Elite Kure is known to be one of the more tune-able bow. Also Ranch Fairy and Average Jack Archery Approved

Its not something that is really in demand, but I would like to see dual dexterity flagships bows. I see a few target bow with center shot cage and I dont see why it would be that hard to make a bow with adjustability like the GearHead's. It would be nice that I can share bows with my kids even if I'm the only lefty in the house so far.

Speaking of Gearhead, their handle adjustment is another innovated way to tune the bow which I think gives it much versatility.

I'll have to see how this year goes but may trade the bow I bought this year for a new one next year.

My draw weight is 58# with a self-imposed maximum of 60#. When I bought this bow, the only max poundage bows on the racks were 70#. If I fill all of my tags on this bow cleanly, it stays. If not, I may trade in for a max 60# bow.

I would like to get a Gearhead someday just for the novelty of it. I hear a very polar opinion of it. Some people say it feel like a bomb going off in your hand. It would serve as a hunting bow, but I don't see max accuracy from it.

Xpedition X30 with the tune capabilities of Elite and price tag of 1998 PSEs. one must dream big if we are talking about wish lists. But seriously the X30 is on my wish list once they come down in price or flood the used market.

me too RamBam, but like with cars, and everything else in our brave new world, if there is less -- I think the price is going up :(

Really really want elite to get back to offering 80lb limbs to go along with the set. Still haven't found anything that can replace my older answer. That thing is crazy smooth & so easy to draw. My 80lb answer draws easier & smoother then my old 70lb switchback xt, which was pretty hard to beat smoothwise even to this day.

I'm hoping Bowtech comes out with a solution x. Longer more forgiving version of the solution. Probably wouldn't be upgrading though, not much is going to be an improvement on the smoothness, speed and quietness of my revolt x.

More LD bows. 36” ata 32”+ dl. Not gonna hold my breath though

I just caved and bought a elite remedy off the classified. Simplicity of tuning. No top hats or mods to switch. Over my vertix. I love my spectra E so far and enjoy the cams for draw change and stops. The elite should be about the same. I’ve noticed many more 32”+ bows coming out it seems and brace height added. I like the route some manufacturers are taking to make a more friendly bow.
