Looking for some advice. Recently purchased a Trophyline Wingman and not sure what aider I want. Debating between a sewn aider from EWO or an Amsteel aider. 3 steps. What do ya’ll got? And has anyone replaced the standoffs with EWO standoffs? Does it give you much more room and is it worth it? And does anyone have the Latitude knee pads? Are they worth the price? I have Trophyline ones that I don’t hate but looking around. Also looking at multi tools. Never owned one but I WANT one. The Leatherman Signal has my attention. One more guys, lighted nocks?? I switched to Nocturnals last year and one died after minimal use and another after being carried off by a deer was dead within a few hours. Pretty disappointed. Bought a six pack of NAP Thunderglos off Camofire for $20. ONE of the 6 work! Unbelievable! Emailed NAP twice and crickets. I had some Nockouts a few years ago that worked great but didn’t care for how long they were. Tried some cheapies off Amazon that 4 of the 6 worked great but didn’t instill much confidence. But after my luck with the name brands may give them another try. Thanks, Matt

This was the first season in 35 years of bowhunting that I have used lighted nocks. I bought Nockturnals as well. Shot them a few times to make sure I was sighted in for the extra weight, seemed to work fine. The one deer I shot this year the nock never even came on. :rage:

Yeah it sucks cuz all the reviews you see all have Nocturnals at or near the top??? I’m kind of leaning towards Lumenoks or like I said the $13 for 6 Amazon specials.

Check into the Ultimater from EWO outdoors. It’s adjustable, can add or remove steps. Does have a little bit of metal for potential noise but it hasn’t been bad. Haven’t used mine much so I can’t act like i have much experience with it.

I was thinking about the UltimAider but dunno if I like the metal and I’m pretty solid on wanting 3 steps with 15-16” spacing.

I like the sewn tubular webbing 3 step aider. I want to know how they compare to the 3 step Amsteel ones that Backwoods offers. Likes, dislikes?
Edit: guess it wasn’t Backwoods, maybe the Amsteel guy. Nevertheless, the Amsteel ones.

My three step aiders are webbing from BMG. The semi rigid step stays open when you step on it, but i would imagine an amsteel aider would do the same if the step was rigid. Years ago i did tubular webbing with hose or wire inside, they worked fine also. But have never used amsteel ones

X2 for the backwoods mobile aider. It’s amazing, you won’t know how you lived without it until you own one, then you’ll be mad we didn’t share it with you earlier. Latitude knee pads are nice but they’re a bit bulky imo. I’ve tried a few different pads and just decided I don’t really need them.

I prefer webbing aiders by a long shot (preferably ones from backwoods mobile gear) so you could either get an aider from backwoods mobile gear and have him put adjustable triglides on it so you can put it thru the step slot. Or just get a EWO slotted step with their sewn aider. I had an ultimaider and it was nice but i didnt like all the metal and ive used enough aiders to know my preferred step distance so no need for the adjustability. As far as kneepads ive owned arcteryx, trophyline and latitude and the latitudes are the best! If you want to save a few bucks just buy a set of Altacontour 360 tactical vibram knee pads.

As far as lighted nocks go i havent had a lick of trouble out of my nocturnals. Ive heard decent reviews on the amazon ones for the price and another good brand to check out is woodys starburst nocks.

Are those Altacontours the same as Latitudes? They look identical

Matt, I feel like I could have posted this myself. I’ve spent a ton of money on nocks and only shoot lighted ones. I get the ones off eBay and put a drop of 3 in 1 oil on the switch (pre-oiling most would brake turning them off). The best I’ve gotten were the JianZD. I am new to archery and brake a lot of arrows! I love to shoot out to 55 yards. I can barely see the target at that distance but love watching the green light fly and stick! I loved the NAP design but NONE of them would work! I did get a refund from the eBay seller since he didn’t have another pack to send me.
As far as the aiders go, I’d go shorter spacing than you may think on the steps, but there are so many options. I’d probably make a single step out of what ever rope you have laying around and try it before you buy one. 2 steps on the aider is often enough anyway.

The 3-step Ultimater is the way to go. You can adjust the steps to whatever space you like. Wrap the metal pieces with hockey tape when you get it the way you like it and your set.
The new nocturnals with the on/off switch are supposed to be better. Good luck!

I have a 15 inch EWO 1-stick with the sewn-in aider and love it. I think it's a 2 step
at 18 inches each. It's all I need. I do use the ultimaider pack n play to keep things tidy. lumenocks have been good to me but I haven't tried many.

Awesome! Got a set in multicam for $30 less then the plain ones
Awesome i think youll enjoy them. I liked my trophyline ones as well but the gusset on the Alta ones really help them stay in place and not slide off my knee, and just more comfortable to wear imo.

As far as nocks go. I’m a huge fan of Nufletch igniters. Not that well known but they are awesome. Easy on easy off and you can practice without the battery/bulb installed. I put a battery/bulb in my pocket when practicing and forgot about it. Found it in the bottom of my washing machine. Still working.
