New Gear Release 2022!

Thanks for posting that video.
I was on the fence about getting into cell cams and that sent me in the other direction. I ll blow my gift cards on something else.
Someone should repost that in the support thread.
What the?

For the platform wienies....

Padded hip belt and frame pack harness....

Get to tree, climb tree. Snap off the "bag" of your pack and hang it on hook at height. Undo waist belt (with overlapping OCB buckle), flip around tree and secure with the OCB.

Kill a deer, quarter it, and pack it out on the "shelf" the platform creates.

Boom.

They’re stating on IG that the weight came in under expected, just over 1lb. That’s a game changer imo the weight saving they were throwing around about the carbon predator was negligible in comparison.

Just weighed my predator, pack, HPG straps, 2 fhf pouches, and my para cord pull up rope. Came in at 5lb 1z, so shaving 3.5 lbs of weight off and eliminating the using of the pack straps complicating the process at the tree is very realistic. That’s hard to ignore, and just when I thought I was dialed in ready to go for next season lol

That is very innovative and awesome. I hope some people get one to review here. I’m too big for one with size 14W boots but maybe they will figure out a larger one.

There is another review of a prototype earlier in this thread, if you want to hear more.

The videos are horrendous. The products are not

The most interesting part to me was when he stepped on the ocb buckle. Hadn’t thought about that happening before. A ros guy could find himself in a tight spot if that happened.

I’ve stepped on mine a couple times but it never released from it. However I started keeping a rubber band on my strap. A couple wraps with the rubber band and it won’t go anywhere. A castration band would work as well

I’ve thought about this. I carry my ring of steps with a gear tie. I thread it behind the buckle when I can it now. Then wrap over top and twist a couple times. Prevents the accidental uncam

For all the new platforms that are being advertised from Tethrddddd, Latitude, Timber Ninja and others, has anyone actually been able to run a numbers comparison? I feel like this season will be an entirely new group of options. Weights, prices, etc? I’ve seen good platform comparison videos on YouTube but now those will be considered old. I’m having fear of missing out and may also post in the saddle hunter support thread to talk about how old and heavy and sad my one year old seeker is and how she needs to lose weight or she’s getting the boot (croc) out the door to the classifieds.

The reason that happened was because the tree diameter....small diameter trees the buckle cant sit flush against the trunk and the handle sticks out. In a larger diameter tree the handle doesn't stick out so would be difficult to do what happened to him. I personally hate the ocb with the hooks and would swap it out for the sewn 1 with no hooks.
