New Gear Release 2022!

I don't get your logic. With my platform and a couple of steps (or a ring of steps) I can move around the tree 360 degrees to keep the tree between me and the deer. With a tree stand your stuck where you are and the tree is only blocking the deer's view from one direction. Please elaborate.

Oh is that what you are supposed to do?

What do you do when they approach from behind and you are caught off guard? The biggest disadvantage to a saddle is you have this big ole tree in front of you impeding your view and you are completely blind to your backside. That whole rubbish about keeping the tree between you and the deer is BS. That is where a treestand beats a saddle every time. The tree blocks the deers view to your back (blind side) with completely open vision in front.

You are also telling me you can lean there like that for hours on end staying completely still without any swaying or anything? The further you are from the the tree the longer the tether. The longer the tether the more you are likely to sway/move and the more movement you need to make to get a shot off.

Become Neo from the matrix. Non issue…lol

It sounds like saddlehunting isn't the solution for you.

As for manuevering when deer are near, you can stand up on the Seeker, much like a treestand.

This whole saddle vs stand topic is a bit overstated imo. And better suited for another thread.

I am just stating the obvious.

Ground blind :tearsofjoy:
Your brother is killing me with that fieldcraft for sale….. I’m trying to use extreme financial discipline and not hoard that for my son who is a righty, I’m a southpaw, if that was a .308 or 7/08 I probably would pull the trigger, then again he would probably want more too, as is it’s a good deal, perfect woods carry rifle, I’m sure he will be pleased with Melvin’s work, I always have been.

First off I am very picky about the trees I hunt out of(usually hemlocks which have a lot of cover year round). I very seldom sit in a telephone pole type tree. I also usually am at least 20 ft. up if not a little higher but if I have multiple deer around me I am probably standing as close to the tree by then to blend in until I get a shot if I want to take a shot. I've been bow hunting for 44 years now and I have pretty much figured out what I can get away with and what I can't in a tree.
Sure, I’m just saying the mantra of “always keep the tree between you and the deer” isn’t always practical.

What kinda steps are they? Can’t get the video to play….

I was wondering when someone was going to design a larger step and incorporate better foot angles into them for comfort. I can’t wait to try those steps when they come out

It’s a new step called the apex and a new ros.

Here are screen shots from the video.

Did the new steps from bullman outdoors have new straps? I feel like a strap with less flex might help for climbing.
