Pictures of how you all pack your packs?

I'm pretty sure there is a thread on archery talk about making an adapter for the guido's to turn the leg straps into a waist strap. It's basically a section of webbing with two male buckles on it, maybe 12" long. Make sure both are the adjustable kind. It just clicks into the female ends of the leg straps, goes in front your waist, and you pull tight. Simple and cheap. I'll have to dig mine out to see if I still have it.

Thanks Kyler. I remembered that from AT, I have buckles that will work and some 2" tubular webbing. One buckle is not adjustable. I'll have to see what I can cobble up later today.

4 modified hawk heliums with aiders and an xop platform. Platform gets strapped to my pack first. I have been stacking my sticks (use the rope on top stick to lash the 4 together) then using the lone wolf strap on the platform to strap the sticks on. I make 2 rounds around my sticks with strap before connecting back to the platform. Upper most strap on my pack goes over both sticks and platform post. Packs quiet and solid. When I get to the tree I instrap my sticks but leave the platform on my pack. Pack goes back on my back again while I climb.

Today, I went out for a 6 mile walk with the cabelas Alaskan pack frame and over 50 lbs of weight (physical training and making up for the Thanksgiving food and drink). Total weight was 58 lbs. I try to do one of these walks per week from early summer though deer season.

I also use it when I bait in NJ, when I scout and when I set up stand sites for future use (sticks, gear, etc. ...)

When I carry gear in hunting, I carry all my clothes sans pants, compression t-shirt. I put all layers on at tree, including long John's. For me, being able to pack everything except weapon really requires a good pack/frame with ability to pack large volume.

I have molle shoulder and waist straps on my lone wolf hang on and Treewalker climber. They both act as pack frames.

The more I use a dedicated pack frame with good shoulder straps and waist belt, the more I am convinced this is the way to go for me when using a saddle type stand. The Alaskan pack frame is a little heavy and it goes a little above my head. So not the best in the brush.

That leads me to looking at the kifaru system.

And mix and match packs, maybe this originally

If I do sell some gear to finance the kifaru system and actually purchase it, I want it to be now known that I blame @G2.

I was wrong about the buckles, I have one male and one female. I have left a voice message at Guidos outdoors to get two male or two sets. I have 2" tubular webbing.

I also have gen 4 molle rucksack frame and shoulder and waist pads. I put in an order for some lashing straps

And will try lashing the Web, sticks and gear to that.

We'll see what happens.

Mr. Butch from Guidos is sending me two sets of buckles. They should be in the mail by tomorrow. My lashing straps are in the mail. Really looking forward to getting a good and comfortable carry system down with the web.

Also a public service reminder. Mr. Butch is retiring and will only be taking orders up until this December 31. Definitely going to order a backup web. Cannot blame @g2outdoors for this though.

This is mine. I strap my sticks directly to my platform and have shoulder/backpack straps to carry it with. Anything extra goes in my pockets or is strapped to the frame with a bungee. Sorry for photo quality took it inside rhe hunting trailer.

Three leverage steps with aiders and rope mods, either bungied or nite ize gear ties to the molle loops. This pack is a cheap Cabelas bargain cave pack. One big top load compartment, 2 side mesh bottle pockets and 2 zip pockets in the lid. Main compartment gets layers, camera, thermos & food, and redundant gear. Zip pockets get my dressing kit, range finder, mora kniv. Wear my kestrel in with one dump pouch that has bow hanger, screw in steps, spare prussic loops & accessory cord, & my paracord haul line.

XOP seat as a platform, 3 hawk helium sticks, rc harness, sit drag, and ropes/carabiners plus hunting gear inside the pack. I felt like it was extremely heavy. I need to trim some weight out of my pack.

Great video Dave! I plan to make a vid soon showing my setup as well. I think these vids will help the newcomers a lot!

Agreed. Great video. The more of these I watch the more it is obvious that we have different systems. It would be nice to document them. Especially those interested in filming. It's soooooo easy to blow away the lightweight, low volume system when you decide to film some hunts. I think we could all benefit

Could someone clarify for me what the " Klemz" is that Dave speaks of????

Not the best picture but here is my set up. I only have 3 sticks here as this was a photo shoot for the Kestrel so I didn't want to get to high.

Thanks,
Boswell

That's one of the reasons I have delayed filming hunts - at my age carrying in all that gear, not to mention all the mental prep needed to film effectively, may be beyond my capabilities?

My thinking too - I do not want any extra weight and have not bothered learning. I appreciate the people who do video hunts. like flinginairos - but he is younger and stronger and technically adept. Fliningairos could run a hunting show but with real hunting instead of fake TV hunting on farms or unpressured areas.
Your videos on the ground at home are equally valuable.
