Drey LL clothing issue-help

I was hunting from the Drey LL this past week, and wondered how in the world you put more clothes on with a saddle…?

I’ve been mobile hunting for 25 years, used to have a guidos web and never had this issue. I swung on a coat and…can’t tuck it in past the belt without detaching it, and I’m not unhooking myself! Yikes

I’m already having to trust a single attachment that I don’t love as dangle backwards

i get up the tree in one climb, not wild about going back down for more clothes.

I had this issue last week. It wasn't really cold so I didn't try to fix it. Now that you mention it, couldn't we loosen the belt a bit, slide it down and over the new layer. Not ideal but you still have the hammock attachment and the RCH loose at the bottom of your butt (only for a quick moment). That would be safe enough for me. I always have my linesman carabiners clipped to my backpack so I guess I could throw it on also. I also do not use leg straps.

I chosen to use the Drey detached from the pouch, it is still connected via a 3 ft piece of paracord in the unlikely case that I drop it while it deployed. This actually solved the problem of adding layers for me. The pouch is actually tucked away under my outer layers completely. I'm using a bib for cold weather and luckily it has double zippers in the front for peeing. Once I'm in the tree. I put on the bib, open the fly to access my RCH, pull the part of the RCH that connect to the carabiner. Then deploy the Drey.

I found it easier to add layers with the drey than any other saddle since I could just move the hammock up or down as needed. Then I loosened the belt and slid my jacket through and retightened. Didn't need to be very loose just enough to stuff the jacket between it and my body. I had trouble doing it with my other saddles because of the increased surface area covering my back.
