1.25" tube. I repurposed the lone wolf replacement seat platform I made year before last. When I ordered the stand from Mark, I asked for no seat, no cables but added a second plate. I stacked the plates vertically so there would be more surface for the seat post. Since the pic, I changed the platform support to amsteel whoopie slings. Initial test hang makes me think I need to move the stand hanging buttons up a notch to get the stand to seat on the tree better. Gonna play with that and what rope setup I want to stick with for hanging the stand a little more.

Do you have a head on pic to show that? I have a Windwalker and the seat comfort is my big issue with it. I’d luv a .5 but don’t see the need as much as I use a stand to drop $500 on it if I can mod my Windwalker a bit.

@Pathfinder this is the best head on I have now. Added the above pic other pic to help show the configuration. Still got a good bit of testing to do with this setup to be confident it will be structurally sound as assembled. No intentions of taking it up a tree just yet.

But I'll have to mod it to throw molle loops around the edge of the seat and find a way to mount a backrest. And maybe camo paint it. the new OOAL seat's going to have a very hard time competing with this.

Looks good to me!!! I was looking at a slumber replacement seat but wishing I had a more traditional style seat like the LW. That’s was my idea a yr ago just never got around to doing it. I have very specific uses for this setup as I know it’s limits as far as wonky trees. It doesn’t have the LWCG, beast stand, novix or cop bat wings so wonky trees are out but I have a saddle for those. When it is useful it’s perfect setup. I got mine for $20 on Craigslist so a few $$$ to mod it up will still come in cheaper then a .5!!! Luv to see other peoples ideas in practice!!!!

I was also looking at possibly using a whopper sling as a replacement tree strap. However not sure as it’ll get stand as tight and might just stick with a good old ratchet strap to really bind it down so it’ll take a little more side pressure when using it as a saddle platform.

Huh I didn’t notice at first glance the batwing off the back on the side view of the stand. I guess my only issue with that is the batwing is putting heavy pressure on the aluminum plates going between the two square tubes and not the tubes.

Why I said it still needs a good bit of testing to be confident of structural stability. You are correct the cleat is going to put a load on the plates. That is why I wanted 2 plates and the longer post. Also there is only a very minor space between the stand posts and the cleat. If it flexes or bends any at all it will be against the cleat. The plates are 1/8 thick so hopefully having the seat post bolted to both plates will give it enough strength. This is prolly a good place for the "dont try this at home" disclaimer.

Ya I had seen an awesome platform adjustment bracket that bolted onto side of platform where the cable connect now. Emailed back and fourth with owner of tree hopper and he said they were looking into it but testing had to be done for legal purposes on their side. Was an awesome design but think a well constructed daisy chain and some versa buttons might do the trick for that in meantime.
