New Gear for 2023, Go!

I love the marsupial, but HATE the magnets as they completely destroy the compass of my phone. There's was multiple times I couldn't navigate my way through the dark and I couldn't figure out what was causing it. Someone mentioned it on rokslide and I soon as I stopped using the harness my phone worked flawlessly again.

I had the exact same experiences, though not at night and deep in the bush with both my compass and GPS. Couldn't figure out why my GPS was orienting wrong. It was all due to the magnets in the Badlands bino harness.

Won't ever buy another harness with magnets ever again! Putting magnets, especially the typically used rare earth strong ones, in the middle of your chest near other electronic/magnetic equipment seems like a very dumb idea to me.

I was very interested in the new fully-enclosed FMF rig.....the way the lid folds is really nicely designed. But as soon as they said "magnets", I stopped watching the preview video and went elsewhere. AFAIK, FMF are just copying all the others......they should do an enclosed/folding lid version that uses velcro, for those of us that are repelled by magnets in our gear. LOL

I feeling is that the added pockets get heavy. It’s much lighter and clean to have it sewn to the bag.
I had a Muley Freak and it was okay. The harness was terrible and I couldn’t get it off my neck. Second, MF is constantly putting out context with questionable shots, wounding animals. Last, kind of supports #2, there is plenty of info that the MF team is just bad people. Too many other options to let that go.

I have a marsupial and will second the magnets suck with navigational devices. They do make a non-mag version. Not sure how well it functions but pretty certain Aron Snyder helped design it. I would imagine the new Kifaru would be a refined version of the non-mag marsupial in terms of functionality.

I really liked the OG Kuiu harness. I had some pockets sewn to the front and bottom and it’s lightweight. I wanted to change the harness a bit but my sew guy is all high and I can’t get him to commit.

I have the non mag version and it's very nice. Serves its purpose and does what it's supposed too.

I got this in the mail yesterday.F14195FA-495F-4A82-AD09-7DCEC4C4F361.jpeg

There are several more pages. Looks like their first print catalog. Overall it’s very well done. You need an electron microscope to read some of the captions on the photo ops page but otherwise it is a very good catalog. They even mention their OG saddle hunter names but not our actual forum just “online.” Anyway, congrats to them!! What an American Success story!!!!

'Long Awaited" -> Nice marketing spin, but uh......long awaited? -- - not really. Plenty of other options on the market, all with very nice, yet with similar features and/or functions. Other than brand name, going to be difficult to differentiate. Best of luck to them on the new product!

They have put off making a bino harness for years. Synder talked about all the requests almost 10 years ago.

I just use a simple cross back paracord "harness" for my binoculars. I have yet to find a good reason for a fancy harness... all I see are negatives... more weight, more movement to get them to my eyes, more crap in the way. The only real benefit I see is less likelihood of scratching the lenses but that has never been an issue for me. The harness that came with my Leupolds went to my kids. Can someone educate me on what I'm missing?

Was the lockdown saddle in the catalog?
Nope, that page I posted is the only saddles. The next two pages were the M2 Turkey Vest and the last page was the Gen3 One Sticks and Skeletors. Then a page on their tethrd ten thingy they do. Oh and their new pack.
