I have been messing within my XOP hand climber top this season to use with a diy saddle (finally ordered a real saddle after 3 hunts with RCH and diy fleece throw, cant wait for my CGM cobra to arrive). Anyway, I watched all the YouTube videos and did not want to drill a hole for the bolt mod. I am not that handy and afraid I would cause climber to crack. So settled on swapping the arms over to the back side. It works alright. Probably missing out on a few extra degrees of angle. Next I am going to use a climbing stick/s to get up and around the wide base of a tree, or trees with low hanging branches, then i can add the climber and go. If really limited on tree choices, I can use all 4 sticks to at least get to a huntable height and then attach the climber and step on as just platform. Not sure on total weight of set up, but it packs comfortable with an xop cam buckle strap that came with sticks. It doubles as a shoulder strap and the strap to secure to tree. Will give a try this weekend if my new saddle arrives in time.
