Saddle Platform/Climber...Next Big Secret...?

Another style climbing platform is based on a climbing aid.

Darwin Award candidate right there.

I have been messing within my XOP hand climber top this season to use with a diy saddle (finally ordered a real saddle after 3 hunts with RCH and diy fleece throw, cant wait for my CGM cobra to arrive). Anyway, I watched all the YouTube videos and did not want to drill a hole for the bolt mod. I am not that handy and afraid I would cause climber to crack. So settled on swapping the arms over to the back side. It works alright. Probably missing out on a few extra degrees of angle. Next I am going to use a climbing stick/s to get up and around the wide base of a tree, or trees with low hanging branches, then i can add the climber and go. If really limited on tree choices, I can use all 4 sticks to at least get to a huntable height and then attach the climber and step on as just platform. Not sure on total weight of set up, but it packs comfortable with an xop cam buckle strap that came with sticks. It doubles as a shoulder strap and the strap to secure to tree. Will give a try this weekend if my new saddle arrives in time.

I didn’t know XOP made a hand climber. If it’s the same design as the LW hand climber seat, you can use a cut piece of rope to get a better angle without a bolt mod. Search Hand Climber @Bwhana .

The OG Treesuit back in the late 90’s came out with a climbing platform. I know because I have one. The platform was all steel and the same shape and close dimensions as the Treehopper Treesuit available nowadays. The OG Treesuit platform climber came with a steel bracket, aircraft cable with crimped cable swages in increments on the cable to adjust for tree diameter similar to the Summit climber cables concept. It also had an adjustable rope/foot loop to prevent the platform from falling to the ground when climbing. I could never get it to climb quietly enough though. I’ll attach pics if I find it. I took the climbing cable off of it and have used and still use the platform.
Do you have any more info or pictures on this cable with the crimped cable swages? Trying to get an idea of how it worked.

This climbing method has changed the way I climb trees for bow hunting!
Easy to climb, safe going up and down and fun rappelling! :)

It’s at my buddies barn on my four wheeler. I’ll snap a pic when m up there. Its similar in arrangement to the summit climber cables.

Why do you need steps? The LW top is all you need.
Some trees are too big at the base or of there are a bunch of limbs. I can use as many or as few sticks as the situation requires and hang the climber while standing on top of stick. And continue going up with the climber if needed.
