Going to PA tomorrow.
My buddy has been showing me pics of studs running the woods behind his house.
 
Sat out in the wind all day. Pretty sure I had one walk by when setting up. Went to the field edge for the evening. Had one come in right at the end. Pretty sure it was a buck. To dark to tell size.

Way to grind! I looked out side and saw the trees blowing sideways and decided 28mph winds were above my threshold
 
Spike, 4 point, and small does this morning. Nothing I wanted to shoot. Turkeys came in. First shot hit right in front of her into the log. Doh... That made me 0 for 5 i think on my last turkey murder attempts. But they didn't run off. They stayed, and another moved up into the clearing. I stuck her. But she was angled away some. So she didn't die right away. Had to finish her off. I thought I hit her good. But with the elevated and slightly away it wasn't as good as it could have been. If I try that again, it will be at the head. Or I gotta get some turkey heads. Figured the Massias was wide enough. :pensive:

This would be the holly grail of my 2023 season if I get him and would bring us up 18 points for the team had him right next to me last year as I got to my tree he’s now a 13 point 3 year old I suspect

Holy moly!
 
Went out this afternoon and saw a ton of doe and small bucks. Nothing close enough or big enough to shoot. Starting to wonder if I missed the rut.
 
I'm likely gonna get out for only my second hunt of the season so far and if it's brown it's down. Future hunt time will be very limited so here's to hoping for at least 5 points but hopefully more!
 
Pretty sure I saw that buck yesterday. He came out, then took off after a doe on the other side who came out wagging her tail. Saw a nice buck all the way on the other side. Then a tall tined buck who winded me. Nice to see some big deer. One of these days I will hopefully get close enough to connect.
 
Saturday I was sick as a dog. Pushed hard Friday up north chasing mountain bucks with the rifle that I was stuck to the couch half the day Saturday. Decided to push myself and go. Got to one of my spots and the wind really wasn’t going good so I changed my plan and drove 20 minutes to a different location. Then I get this picture from the spot I originally was gonna go. IMG_7030.jpeg remember how I said I can’t win this year? It gets better. I still feel pretty nasty and I almost stayed home from work today. In fact I was staying home until the phone was ringing off the hook and I ended up going in. My wife sends me this guy in the field today next to the house where if I was home I would have been sitting today IMG_7935.jpeg
