Why don't yall 2TC?

You figured it out, I omitted the part of the hitch having to be unloaded as the fig 8 is loaded.
It was wedged down on there really tight though. Even standing on the ground flat footed it was tough to break it loose. I had to work the loop back and forth and push the loop into the knot to free it.

Here's some photos of my 2TC system this year. As you can see, I only use 2 metal carabiners. The one on the left, my foot tether, I then use to rappel on a munter. All hitches are JRB'S Longhorn Agile. The foot loop on my main tether/rappel rope comes off once I'm on my platform.
@HoneyBadger53
Thanks for the photos!!
One question. Why so much extra length at the end of the foot tether?

This is going back on the shelf for a while.
Pfftt, Tie your rope on the tree with a running jrb hitch and put a cornell on the rope to clip into and you will be baking with cooking grease. Then you can either use the 8 or a munter and come down slick and easy.

No don’t cut it !!!

Buy a new shorter one. That way you have more ropes laying around AND you get to spend more money.

It’s a Win-Win situation…
Actually, my foot tether is a 20' peice of the first 40' rappel rope i had ever bought. I had kept it that long because I told myself I was gonna try a hybrid of hitch climbing and 2TC with a long pole.....but never did and now with my wire stiffened tethers 2TC is just fast enough to not need to carry a extension pole at all.

I remember seeing some stuff on your experiments with wire in tethers. I'm super interested in that, since loosening the tether and keeping it rigid enough to advance efficiently it is the main thing that keeps me away. What did you land on, or are you still experimenting?

How many of you 2TCers carry a lineman's belt on your saddle? How many of you use one?

Apologies if it's already been asked in these 132 pages...
I haven’t used a lineman’s belt in 4 years. 2 years while one sticking and 2 while exclusively 2TC. I looked at the loops the other day and strongly considered cutting them off. A lineman’s belt while 2TC can be helpful starting out but you will quickly find that it is unnecessary and slow. The only time I could see it being helpful is if you climb the low side of a strong lean on a tree too large to wrap your leg around to hold you close. I haven’t ran into that scenario yet.

I have one on my saddle that seems to always get in the way. Seeing @gcr0003 say he hasn't used his in years reminded me that I haven't either. Might need to rethink that.

All this wire stiffening talk reminded me of this old climbing stand niche product. No idea if this is of any use with 2TC but figured I'd share.

We all keep kicking around the idea but no one has taken the leap yet. Us 2TC are the cheap bunch. We use what we have and don’t spend money on anything new lol. I’m wanting to sew up a 1.5/1.75” webbing strap to 2TC similar to what is shown I just haven’t done it yet.

Same here. I've messed with 2TC. It's fine, but I prefer one-sticking. But with a rigid enough rope to where you can basically operate it like a climber, I'm all in. I'm just not the tinkering type to figure these things out myself.

Actually I think this is the first time I've seen this. Looks amazing. I might be your huckleberry.

I've never tried it, the biggest hurdle for me being having to buy all of the equipment to try it out. Currently run two sticks and a moveable aider that I also use on my platform.

Just curiously, what do you imagine would be the best, budget friendly way to give 2TC a try?
