MUST-WATCH FOR BOWHUNTERS - Blood Tracking Deer with Dogs

I’d say put her on tracks as soon as possible. I have a 2.5 yr old Lacey and put him on tracks at 6 months old. He’s found more deer than I can even recall. Great book: https://www.unitedbloodtrackers.org/product/tracking-dogs-for-finding-wounded-deer/

Nose to the ground Virginia, a free blood tracking and recovery service

Wow, that’s incredible. They should charge for multiple offenders. I can‘t help but think people would intentionally take marginal shots knowing they have a free back up plan. I’d hope not, but I can‘t help but think…

    Rope storage in dump pouch

I’ve only been saddle hunting a year or two now and this is what I do. I’m a minimalist and this works good for me. I'm open to trying dump pouches but feel I’d go back to this system if I did.

    Hoisting weapon?

The only one I have in the camera roll is it unattached. I have two plastic carabiners that hook into paracord loops that I tied on each end of riser. It’s wrapped around my quiver in this photo.

    Hoisting weapon?

I haven’t hoisted a bow up in several years. I made a sling of paracord and have it on my back as I climb up and down. No extra movement, quiet, and doesn’t get banged around or dirt in the cams. I’m surprised how few people use this method.

hug the woods or middle of field?

Where I am, walking down the middle of the field works best.
