Rope storage in dump pouch

There is a little more method to the madness. So, my linemans is on my left, in the pouch, but I keep it girth hitched to my left linesmans loop. This if for quick access when climbing and going around limbs. Simply pull it out, around the tree and clip to right side lineman’s loop, adjust Ropeman, done. As for the tether on the right Side, I keep it in the right pouch, but I keep by back band underneath my tether. Basically in the bottom of the right pouch. This works for me as I like to keep things simple, organized and quick to draw. The back band never comes out of the bag unless my tether is deployed, so it lives underneath the tether. All other devices are carried on my person or in my pack. This prevents me from having to take anything out of a pouch to access something else in the pouch. This just helps me keep things straight, makes for easy repetition, is tangle free and it just works for me. The daisy chain is nice, but I don’t care for the dangling loop and snagging on cover. I can stuff in the bag quickly, it’s protected and hidden. But most importantly try some of these recommendations and see what works best for you. We are all a little different.

Daisy chain, clipped back to self and loop. No need for dump pouches. Unnecessary

I’ve only been saddle hunting a year or two now and this is what I do. I’m a minimalist and this works good for me. I'm open to trying dump pouches but feel I’d go back to this system if I did.

I use one pouch on my left side. The 8mm ropes have really been nice because of packability, last year I had the 11mm & ran 2 pouches. The extra pouch was noisy & got in the way if I turned around with my back to the tree.

My lineman's belt is on top, girth hitched to my left lineman's loop at all times. Then my tether is under that so that when I get to the top of the tree I can grab it & hook up easily. Then I have a homemade amsteel gear hanger in the bottom. Takes up so much less space than the hys strap did.

I fine tuned my system during this offseason after getting into it last year & it makes all the difference in efficiency/convenience of setting up & tearing down.

Yeah the 8mm ropes might be the key. Quite a bit less bulk from the pictures I see.

For sure. I also had ropemans on my 11mm ropes but with the 8mm prefer just the schwabisch hitch & tenders. Works just the same & a lot cheaper.
